This is a beautifully constructed and maintained hotel. While there are a few minor indicators of it's age, property managers have done a wonderful job of upgrading while maintaining the elegant historical look of this hotel. From the moment you enter the front doors, class is evident everywhere. You can even get a hot razor shave and a shoe shine here. The people we interacted with were friendly and professional. Check-in was painless, and we found our room, while marginally small was very well appointed and elegant in both it's decor and furnishings; the pillow top queen sized bed was excellent for sleep, as were the pillows which offered both soft or firm. The bathroom was quite small, but in excellent condition; the night-light was a great idea. While the tub was orange peeled, it was still slippery for soapy feet in the shower. A bath mat is in order. Analog cable TV while quaint, produces a noisy picture of lower quality than we are used to, but we weren't there that much anyway. The dining room (mentioned in my other review of this property) is a beautiful room, well decorated with what I assume is an original chandelier of enormous size and beauty. There is also a lounge on the main floor which was very inviting (and busy), so I assume it must be very good.
As a couple of very nice bonuses, we received our parking complimentary (which we didn't even ask for) and a 15% discount coupon for the dining room as it was our first visit to the hotel...Thanks. All in all a terrific hotel that we will visit again in the future.

Room Tip: North view rooms have a view of a nice park in downtown Regina. As with most hotels, higher floors...

Thank you for your comments, they are appreciated.

We do have bath mats available in the closet for those who prefer mats, I am sorry you were not aware.

We are also in the process of change, which will provide us with 24 HD television channels.

We do appreciate your business and hope you will return when your travels bring you back to Regina.

Regards,

Anne

This old hotel is a bit like staying in a museum with it's old gold trim and glittering chandeliers. I enjoyed reading the framed articles about its beginnings while wandering through the lobby. It has certainly seen better days and is beginning to get a bit shabby. It is clean but there is visible damage/wear everywhere. Certainly not on my top 5 list of nicest hotels. It's rather romantic though and if you don't mind the busy patterns of wall paper, carpetting and over decorating, it's fine. The staff are exceptional, and the beds are very comfortable. The bedding was a feather duvet. The pillows were terrible....2 very squishy feather, and 2 very massive lumpy synthetic fills. The views are often lovely, and the restaurant is gorgeous. But the gym is average and the hot tub and sauna are a bit awkward and blah in their little room in the basement. There is not much modern about this place, so prepare yourself for old fashioned rooms with noisy toilets, fans and elevators, and tiny bathrooms. This is not what I would recommend for famillies with kids although of course there is wifi and TV.

Room Tip: We were in 517. It was visually very busy, but clean and comfortable. Turn up the fridge when you ar...

Thank you for your comments, they are appreciated.

The Radisson Plaza Hotel Saskatchewan was built in 1927 and the era and decor are not pleasing to everyone.

I am very sorry the bedding did not meet with your expectations. We are in the process of replacing all of the bedding and the process should be completed by the end of the week.

We do hope you will consider revisting this hotel on your future visits to Regina.

Anne

In my opinion this hotel should be rated #1 in Regina. Nothing else in Regina comes close to the Hotel Sask. It is definitly not a place to bring your kids but is great for a couples retreat. It has a great restaurant, spa and hot tub and fitness center. If your there on a Sunday morning their brunch is wonderful, with lot's of delicious options to choose from. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and done up in Victorian style. The ambiance of the hotel is hard to beat.

We travel to Regina at least once a year to visit family. This is the best sleep in Regina. This top notch property has lovely, spacious, clean rooms and if you book well enough ahead, can secure a great rate. Parking is outside and next door, a tiny hassle, especially in cold weather. The historic nature of the property is well preserved and very welcome. We've had consistently good service. Check in and relax!

This is the best place to stay when in Regina.

I stayed here after a very disappointing night at the Holiday Inn on prince of wales drive. Ironically my company rate was cheaper and the hotel was much much nicer.

Service was very good and the food in the restaurant was better than it is in many hotels. The rooms were a little old fashioned, but comfortable enough. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Regina.

If you love historic properties, this is the hotel for you. Everything is extremely well appointed and clean. I am very picky about hotel rooms but, other than a tight washroom, I have absolutely nothing critical to say. The beds rank very high on the comfort scale and I never have any problem sleeping here. The restaurant fare is well rounded and appealing to many different types of eating preferences. A warning though that this hotel can get booked up quickly and rates can fluctuate quite dramatically depending upon what is going on in town. This is my first choice whenever I have to do business in Regina. The last time I stayed at the Hotel , Diana Krall was staying in an adjacent room! I caught a glimpse of her as she boarded her tour bus. Who knows - you might have an opportunity to share an elevator with someone famous!

A few years back we stayed at Hotel Saskatchewan. Like many historical places that my wife and I generally enjoy over the new ultramodern hotels. Even with the limited hot water and questionable ventilation in the room, it is still a better option for us then the new places with no 'spirit'. Unfortunately this time we also experienced in room coffee mugs that were filthy on the outside but looked to be clean on the inside?! Perhaps they had been wiped with a damp cloth or bath towel? As it was Christmas and a family venue was shortly to follow we did not speak to management. Not the way to start a nice day.
Oh yeah, we also had a number of long black hairs stuck on the shower wall...
This could have been a one off day but still needs mentioning. Our last visit three years ago was very good and the reason why we decided to stay here again.
