“Ambience great, food terrible”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

We've been three times and THAT'S IT never again! The restaurant is in a wonderful old house with a pretty patio but on the three ocassions we've been there with out of town guests (Vancouver and Toronto) we've been embarassed by the quality of the food! Mediocre would be an understatement. I recommend you just go for coffee or a drink

“A is for Ambiance!”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

A unique restaurant set in a 1905 three story mansion. Great photo opportunities inside and out as the house is very Victorian and designated a Saskatchewan Heritage Site. The interior is furnished with antiques. There are three dining floors and the "Top of the Parlour" can be reserved for banquets or special events. We were led to the 2nd floor, where a friendly hostess advised on the wine list and dinner specials for that evening. We ordered wine which was served quickly. However, there was a long wait for the evening food special. Upon inquiring as to the delay, we were informed that good food takes time to prepare. Our choice was simple strip loin steaks and the place was not that busy. We kept waiting and eventually finished off the wine! When finally served, the food was nicely presented and steaks cooked as ordered, though the potato and vegetable portions were small considering the prices. Experiencing the decor and ambiance of the place almost made up for the waiting, as well we had time to peruse the small gift shoppe.

“Great Atmosphere”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

Great service and food, fairly priced, seafood platter was fresh and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming - wish we had been there on an evening when they were running tours of the house - would have been interesting.

“Unexpectedly good”
Reviewed September 1, 2012

Food was good for the price. Had the steak, stirfry, prime rib kids meal on our visit. All good.
Would go back. Talk to ghosts and video kept kids entertained :)

“Absolutly HORRIBLE!!”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

Neat old house...but horrilbe dining experience. Sat at a grunchy old table in the corner with dirty juice glasses for our water and dirty dollar store silverware. My appetizer was hiddeous which was the escargot, no joke, it had absolutly NO flavour. The stuff sole I ordered was the icing on the cake though, disgusting very fishy tasting 'cod' covered in a sauce that I have no idea if it was melted cheese or what. The service was horrible, we didn't get our drinks for a good 15 minutes when we sat down. When I returned my meal, telling her how disgusting it was she came back offering me free dessert! A $5 dessert...really? I will never eat here again, but would like to tour the house. Moose Jaw residents should be ashamed of this restaurant.
