The museum looked to be very but we felt rushed as it closed too early for tourist season.I believe it closed at 5 P.M.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Western Development Museum. They had great displays, planes, trains, cars and boats of all vintages, makes and models, and it was very informative. Everything was well laid out, and the place wasn't very busy even on a weekend. The boys in our family loved it, especially the old cars, and even the not so interested girls enjoyed it too :) Fun for everyone, and not too expensive :)

The Western Development Museum is worth a visit if you find yourself in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
The museum is huge and well laid out --- not overcrowded - wide walking areas- info on each item that is displayed.
There are trains, planes, automobiles and boats ------- some of which are rare!
It has a very impressive train area, with access to climb up and see the trains of yesteryear.
The Airplane area has numerous vintage Airplanes and even the motors displayed which really impressed our friend ---- a retired AMET.
Boats and cars of many varities!!
Give yourself at least 4 hours --- you will not be disappointed!!

Being from Moose Jaw, this is a must see. The Snowbirds wing is very impressive; don't miss it. The display of locomotive equipment is huge, and you can go right in. You may have seen many of the cars, but I guarantee you haven't seen them all!

This museum is filled with trains, boats, planes, cars, the Snowbirds and other historical displays. Our group ranging in age from 3 to 65 were impressed. This particular weekend they also had an Easter egg craft and paper egg hunt for the kids. We were also allowed to visit the museum on two consecutive days for the same entrance fee. You can also return for half price within 30 days. (The family entrance fee was a very reasonable $20)

There are many paths leading to the different transportation areas. The area is great for kids to explore and wheel chair/stroller friendly. Although, most of the vehicles you can not touch, there were several trains that you could go in, including a caboose, sleeping car and engine. This is not your typical stuffy museum - the space is huge, displays very well done, walk areas wide and great for wandering.

You could easily spend hours here and not see everything. Our kids were entertained for a good hour and half/two hours. (aged 4 and 6). There is also a Thomas the train table and airplane for the kids to play in at the front of the buliding.

The staff were friendly and there is also a Souvenier shop available.
