I had a 3 courses meal for diner. The food was very good and delicate. The only thing is the portion are very small. 3 courses meal costed me 80$ without wine and I was still hungry when I left.

Discovered this gem from a September 2012 article by Rochelle Lach in the Montreal Gazette. Just a five minute walk from our hotel, this upscale, avant guarde fine dining experience is located on the boardwalk overlooking the mighty St. Lawrence River. Get a seat in the window to watch the ships pass during your meal.

Service is slow and elegant leaving lots of time to appreciate the food, wine and ambiance.

Dishes are exotic and built for a sophiscated and memorable dining experience. Presentation is exquisite. Service is calm and methodical. The prices are high.

Go for a special occasion. What a wonderful experience.

This restaurant deserves every one of its five stars. The menu is inspired, the food exquisite and the service great. A must visit for all lovers of fine cuisine and culinary creativity.

Fine cuisine, good wine, exquisite presentation in a nice waterfront site. It's hidden a little bit, make sure to look for it up the stairs :-)

I was disappointed with Le Poivre Noir. I heard about it, and was excited to go, but overall, I wasn't too impressed. First: service. The service was terrible. The server was not nice, really not attentive, obviously couldn't wait to get out of there, and was so slow. We were about 6 tables, 3 servers, and she found a way of not being present and being slow.

The food was good. The porc was ok.. well cooked when I got it,but then you had Chartreuse flambée, which make it cook it more, and then it was a bit overcooked. Not so tasty either. The pine nuts' risotto was amazing. The wine by the glass was obviously open for a few days, it wasn't fresh.
The decoration was cold, I didn't like it, but the view is amazing on the Fleuve (with big windows).
