We went to Les Forges since the weather was threatening rain and we wanted to be inside. In fact this is a Parks Canada site and part of the experience was walking the grounds. As it turned out, we didn't need to worry about the rain. The exhibits are first rate and one can imagine what it would be like to work in this type of foundry day in and day out. We started with a short video that described what it would have been like in the village and the foundry and then we visited the inside exhibits at the Interpretation center. After that we walked the grounds and down to the lower and upper forges. If you visit, make sure you carry some matches or a lighter to ignite the devils rock (you'll learn of it during your visit).
