We did the zodiac cruise to go see the whales. First of all, you must realize that the Dufour Zodiac is not your run of the mill small zodiac, it is more like a small boat so we felt very secure. We probably picked one of the worst days as it rained all night and only stopped when we left at 9h00 am through a very dense fog. Nevertheless the captain was able to bring us to spots where we saw whales. A humpback did dive about 100 meters from us and was nice enough to show us her fluke (got so awed I forgot to take a picture). We saw several other whales including a baby that decided to surface about 10 meters from the boat (evidently he/she did not know about the rules of boat not getting too close to whales) and that was great. Unfortunately we did not see any large blue whale but in that "soup", we were just happy to see whales. We also saw seals and "marsouins".
All in all, we were happy as the weather did not cooperate but we still got to see the whales.
Advice: Bathroom before you start, bring warm clothes including gloves (I wish I had known) and binoculars if you have any. They will provide you with full rain gear (pants and coats) so you will come back as dry as you left.
