Stayed one night while travelling through Quebec. Room was terrific in all respects......large, clean, conveniently located, and a great view of Tadoussac village from the balcony. Bed was very comfortable! Front desk person was friendly and helpful (and spoke just enough English!). Would definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone looking for basic, but quality lodging. Pricing was reasonable considering we had no reservation and it was high tourist season. Very impressed overall!

Room Tip: Second floor rooms have balconies overlooking the village. Motel faces the street, but road noise is not an issue.

The Motel de l’anse à l’eau did not refund us a reservation cancelled by Booking since we made a second reservation in the same motel and, by its own initiative, the motel decided to not cancel the first reservation and moved the money on the second one. Doing so, we lost the money due to the Canadian dollar-euro exchange rate that in the second reservation was unfavorable to us. Besides, before we check in, the Motel de l’anse à l’eau lied repeatedly to Booking saying that it did the refund, which in fact it has never arrived. We tried to explain to the owner, Mr. Guillaume Murray, the damage, even if small, that he caused us, but Mr. Murray repeated in a rude and arrogant way that he did not care at all because we had already paid and we could even leave the motel. The next day we found the car scratched with a key, the rudeness of someone. Booking acknowledged the damage and the unfair behavior of the Motel de l’anse à l’eau and refunded us about half of the reservation amount. On the bed we have found hair and in the bath brown spots. The hot water did not work well. There are better hotels with restaurant very close. We will never go there again.

We ( my wife and myself ) arrived from Richmond Hill, ON and booked in advance
a not expensive place for 2 nights to stay. The motel had everything that we needed.
It was clean, no smell, good location and withing the budget(free parking and wi-fi).You can have a continental breakfast in the motel for $6, but we prefered to walk 1 min across to 'Cafe Boheme' with a great bakery on a ground floor ( what a good breakfast!). The motel's staff is very nice, they can book for you a whale watching trip if needed.Try to speak some French, they love it!

Room Tip: we stayed in the room 208 with a balcony. I guess 2nd floor rooms have the balconies.

The hotel is basic but comfortable. The room was clean and correctly equipped. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is possible to book a whales cruise at the front desk. The hotel is close to the city center.
A good place for some days in Tadoussac.
