“Good location”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

I just returned from staying at the hotel for three weeks. The room was spacious and clean. I kept my window open at night and enjoyed the fresh air ( my room was an even numbered room facing the back). The front desk staff are very accomodating and helpful.
The morning buffet was acceptable, the fresh fruit great, however a change in hot items would have been a nice change.
I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed 3 nights in mid July 2013, on business.

Hotel is clean & well-maintained. Room was above-average in cleanliness. WiFi (free) was acceptable. Front desk staff were great. Pool & hot tub looked nice and well-maintained (although I did not use, they are prominent on the main floor).

Cons; AC unit is loud when it is cycling on. Noise from hallway is an issue. The room doors must be too thin- you hear everyone coming and going quite clearly. No on-site restaurant (although they serve breakfast 7 days, which I did not try so cannot comment on) or bar.

Probably one of the better hotels in this small city. Would stay again if ever in Sherbrooke.

We weren't sure what to expect when we reserved there as they were much cheaper than the other 4 star hotels in Sherbrooke. We were very happy with our decision. We saved some money and still got 4 star quality. Room was extremely spacious and comfortable. We also loved the indoor pool and spa. On site restaurant only open for breakfast.

If you are an American visitor to this hotel; heed my advise and STAY AWAY! They want your money here, but it's clear that they do not YOU.

We found a true lack of service and hospitality from the moment we arrived, in the dining room, pool and from the hotel security. And for the high prices this hotel charges, you would think they would treat guests better.

Anyway, we regret our staying here and again...If you are AMERICAN...STAY AWAY!

Thank you for taking time to write this review. We don't exactly understand why you say we don't appreciate American tourist. Tourism is very important to us and we would not exist without it. This is why we make absolutely no discrimination regarding our guests.

Also, customer service is very important to us. We usually get great comments from our guests and your review is a little surprising so we would like to know more about your stay so we can improve our service.

We hope next time you are in Sherbrooke, you will give us a second chance to let you have a most enjoyable stay.

Caution: The service levels at this hotel are a disgrace…so if this is important to you...keep driving and find another hotel!

We stayed at the Hotel Le President very recently and while the hotel looks nice and comfortable, beware the staff is nasty, items are broken and there is absolutely no regard for hospitality anywhere here.

We arrived to find a broken elevator and had to carry our bags up several flights of stairs. Later when it was fixed, management posted a sign saying that it costs $800 to fix the elevator and those who broke it would be held responsible.

We stayed on the second floor, next to the laundry. On Saturday morning, shortly after 720AM, we were awakened by what we thought was a train passing by the hotel. Turns out that this was the housekeeping staff running the giant washers. It was terrible!

So, if you do stay here... DO NOT STAY IN ROOMS 201, 201, 203, 204, 205, 206, 207, 208 or 209. And most likely the same would hold true for rooms on the 3rd floor, so be aware.

In addition, the ice machine on the 3rd floor was broken, the machine on 2 was empty and we finally found ice on the first floor. Only to walk back up stairs numerous times.

I went the front desk and asked to be relocated, but this request was denied. Thus I asked for a manager, none would speak with me. I asked for a rate reduction, none was offered, but I was told to call the hotel on Monday. I left my card and asked for a manager to call me back. Again, no one from the hotel contacted me in this regard.

The pool is nice, but the lifeguards hassle guests left and right. And as soon as the pool closes, the lifeguard says "The pool is closed you must now get out!"

So, if you are considering this hotel because it looks nice and offers comfortable hospitality...keep driving. You will NOT find any customer service here...at all!

Thank you for taking time to write this review. We are sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations.

The elevator broke in the morning, but everything was fixed in the same day and before the usual check-in time.
For the ice machines, one of the four machines available in the Hotel was broken and it has been fixed in the following hour.
Concerning the pool, lifeguards have to make sure everybody has left the pool before ending their day. Because of the size of the pool and for security reasons, nobody can be swimming if there is no lifeguard so this is why they have to be strict on the opening hours.

We know it can be an inconvenience when things are broken, but it happens and it is out of our control. This is why we always fix or replace everything as soon as we can so our guests can have a most enjoyable stay.

Best regards.

We stayed one night at this hotel and ultimately decided to move over to the nearby Delta. It's not that we didn't receive decent value for the room rate at this property, but ultimately, we felt the Delta was worth spending a few dollars more. The President's rooms are tired and worn, albeit clean. Suprisingly, the pool area had been updated and seemed very popular with young children and families. The free wifi service was decent and the front desk staff were helpful. Parking was also free. I suppose we'd stay again in a pinch, but it wouldn't be our first choice.

We stayed for 4 nights at Christmas- 2 adults, 2 kids. The room was maybe a little smaller than standard with 2 beds but we were fine.
Room has a little fridge, there is a pay washer and dryer on the second floor which came in handy.
The kids enjoyed the pool which is a nicely decorated area.
I liked the little makeup mirror in the bathroom. All hotel rooms should have these. They did not have the curved shower curtain rod which most hotels seem to have upgraded to.
The little card that you put on the door (do not disturb or please clean room now) is the same color on both sides. I wonder if they may not have noticed when we switched the card as our room was not done on one of the days, but we found the cleaning staff to be very nice.
Unfortunately we never had a chance to try the breakfast which is available at an extra cost. No other meals are available at the hotel but there are many restaurants close by.
Overall everything was clean and well-maintained and we would be likely to stay there again.
