Grand Times Hotel Sherbrooke
Ranked #4 of 15 Hotels in Sherbrooke
Reviewed April 30, 2014

Although the hotel feels like it is trying a bit too hard to be chic and modern for business travel, it doesn't quite pull it off in all areas but it does try hard. The room was lovely, very modern, the lighting is a bit bizarre throughout which is the "trying to hard" part for me. All in all the bed was great and the view on the little lake was quite pretty. Enjoyed.
The breakfast caught me off guard as they say it is included but it actually shows up as a separate price on your bill. I just noticed that after leaving since I was in a rush but I would not have preferred to not pay for that and simply eat elsewhere. The continental breakfast was just not my thing but it seemed that a lot of business men were enjoying their toast and sorry to say it...but ...bad coffee.
All in all the best hotel that I have stayed at in Sherbrooke.

Very fashionable hotel located in Sherbrooke downtown area. This hotel had many good things that I liked. Namely, the staff was very friendly and competent. Separating your bill into 3 separate bills was easy and done without any fuss. Also, the breakfast was very good and provided as part of the charge. The corporate rate was on the level of a Westin so it was not too bad. The rooms were very nice and soap and shampoo were good.

Here are the reasons why I did not give it 5 stars. The workout area was too small and basically useless. No weights, no universal machine, nothing for those of us who work out (1 treadmill). A few other small things. No hot tub but a pool tool small to swim in? Please just replace this pool with a couple of nice hot tubs... Not enough towels in your bathroom. Only 2 full size towels and 1 is all rolled up and is not of a good texture if you know what I mean (more for looks). No conditioner so bring your own. The bar closes at 11. Too early since when it is cold you aren't really going anywhere in town (though the towns drinking establishments close at 3).

In short I really liked the hotel due to the W look and feel and the fireplace area at night is gorgeous. However to get that last mark there are a few things they need to fix.

Room Tip: The small bed was fine for 1 so no need to get a king size for the extra 30 dollars or so a night.

Stayed @ GT during a multi day business trip to Sherbrooke. Excellent, central location to many amenities and dining. Exceptional views.
The property itself is new, modern with and update vibe. All staff were professional and very helpful. Check in was quick and efficient.
Room was clean with a typical layout - I was expecting something more but can't put my finger on it. Lots of hot water, comfortable beds, good linens and towels. Good continental breakfast.
Hotel has underground parking for an additional charge (~$15 per night?).
Would stay @ GT again.
Be aware - no on site restaurant or room service. If you want food, you'll need to find a restaurant or grab take out.

Room Tip: West rooms offer an exceptional view.

Clean modern room with very continental breakfast. Pool is much smaller than it appears on line and is located directly behind front desk. Poor location for a pool. The hotel is very nice but the hard surfaced floors are very slippery when wet . I was wearing running shoes and often found it difficult not to slip including the bathroom

Great stay at the Grand Times hotel Sherbrooke. Upon check in, we were sent to a floor where a large group of guests were staying. We went back down to the lobby to see if we could get another room on a different floor and the front desk agent accepted to help us with our request. The room was great, comfortable and large in size. The overall property is very clean. Staff was courteous and friendly. I give this hotel a 4/5 rating because of the price. It is a little overpriced for Sherbrooke. We would however return the next time we have to go to the Eastern Townships.

The hotel itself is beautiful however They nickle and dime guests. For example, trying to charge extra $15.00 per night for an adult that I had the confirmation for, $8.00 per day if you want a coffee maker and $25.00 per night if one wants a cot. You cannot eat or drink anything in the foyer without purchasing any food or drinks from them...not even a coffee. You must use room keys for the elevator however, inevitably, the keys do not work.

Stayed for an Overnight. The building and grounds were acceptable, but overpriced. The real issue is the staff. They could not answer even basic questions correctly (i.e.where`s ice machine or is the back door locked from inside). In addition the hotel catered a big corporate party and the room I had above the party made me feel like I was there. Terrible!
In the morning I spoke with check out clerk who advised him of the issue and he said others complained as well. He then said if I had called down2x and told them they would have called the Police on themselves as that`s the law. Really, thought that was about other guests who are to loud and not your hosted events.
Never Again
