“Great place to go with friends”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2013

My wife and I have eaten here several times together and several times with friends. We have always had an enjoyable experience. We really enjoy the Plat à partager, which provide a copious meal - soup, egg rolls and several main platters - all served very attractively. Definitely a place that you can return to again and again.

“Solid Vietnamese Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2013

Unpretencious, authentic Vietnamese food. Fair prices + BOYB/BYOW. Very vegetarian friendly. Soupe au cari et lait de coco is a must

“Very, very disappointed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013

We chose this restaurant based on previous reviews. The place is in the suburbs, very scarce parking on side streets. Old residential house converted into a restaurant 30 years ago and never renovated. They don't take credit or debit cards even though some of their plates are over $50. Not an Asian face in sight, either clientele or staff including the kitchen. Beef citronella was chewy with a brownish sauce that had nothing to do with citronella. Pad Thai had 2 small shrimps included and contained rancid overcooked vegetables such broccoli. Way overpriced for a Vietnamese restaurant that has no Vietnamese staff ! All in all left with a very bad taste in every way and had to hurry to hotel room to find something to eat or drink to remove bad taste. Can't believe they bill themselves as fine Asian cuisine ! What a contrast to the most wonderful fabulous dinner we had the night before at the Antidote Foodlab restaurant with the most beautiful ambience.

“More like a 3.5”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2013

It was a different experience.
It is a converted house of sorts but there is a good number of seating available both indoors and outside.

Ambience - Pleasant
Menu - French only
Service - Took a little time, but the guy who waited on our table was very helpful and thoughtful.
Drinks - It's a BYOB place and since we didn't have any wine with us, we didn't have any option to but to sip water along with the meal.

Food
The appetizer - Fried calamari - This one was good but a smaller portion than expected.
The main course
Chicken- Beef Chowmein - The friend noodles topped with meat and veggies on a pool of sauce - It was not bad.
Duck - tender duck in a caramelized sauce - with rice

$$ - $55 +tips for two with 2 main courses and an appetizer

“Small place - big taste!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

Many people recommended this restaurant before I actually decided to try it. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside (transformed house), and honestly doesn't look like much on the inside either, but the food is GREAT! The bring your own wine concept is greatly appreciated and helps keeps prices reasonable. The full meal (table d'hôte) comes in at around 21-30$, and the servings are very generous. Definately a place to try or keep coming back to!
