Dinner at Parmesan was one of the most delightful experiences of a confessed foodie's life. We found the restaurant to be an energetic buzz of enthusiastic diners criss crossed with busy but very helpful waiters working in concert. The candlelit and memento filled atmosphere is complemented by a strolling accordion player, further enhancing the festive mood. An added bonus: The menu is not only comprehensive, but printed in a wonderfully large font for easy reading.
Luigi, the owner, makes everyone feel they are special and after weeks on the road my husband and I felt we had suddenly come home. The Lemon Veal Piccata with Linguine was sublime though Luigi noted the Veal Martini was one of his favorites. Craving fresh veggies, I was thrilled with the Watercress and endive salad. Every leaf was perfection.
We also highly recommend the Cold Zabaglione with Luigi's home made aged Balsamic Vinegar which lofted it into a completely different dessert realm. Pride in the many house made products is so evident that we are returning to sample his own Prosciutto de Luigi with melon.
Oh, and ask Luigi for a cup of his special, top secret Italian Coffee.
