Description: Sultry red, green and orange hues are part of the welcoming décor of this restaurant which carries you for a few hours to the wonderful Italy of music and laughter. In winter, our lovers can bask in an atmosphere warmed by two beautiful fireplaces. “Parmesan Disappointing & Over-priced!”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

Where to start?!? The young woman greeting us didn't know all the menu and the meals that I was contemplating for supper. We asked if there was a quiet table, but then led to a corral of tables much too close to each other! When we asked to sit at another table without persons on either side, the owner intervened and asked why we didn't like the table next to another couple...not tactful!. When I said we would leave, he then allowed us to sit at the other table...it turned out that the other tables remained vacant due to the lateness of the evening (8:45pm). The service was sporadic, as the first waiter we summoned advised that there are no assigned tables. So it took several minutes to be greeted and asked for our starting beverages...water arrived at the end of the meal just after the plates were removed. We also had to ask if bread was served with the meals, and soon after some stale, room temperature bread arrived with frozen butter. My cannelloni was bland tasting, meat filling meagre, pale coloured sauce, watery cheese, but the waiter did bring some spicy pepper preserves that partially made the meal palatable. The seafood linguini was passable, with shrivelled fish pieces but would have been a better choice than my linguini...but my companion reneged on sharing after tasting my meal. The prices of $21.50 for the cannelloni and $29.95 for the seafood linguini are horribly over-priced for the quality and quantity served. The only bright spots of this dining experience were the wine selection by an older waiter, some lively singing accompanied by accordion music, and a buffer of vacant tables for some privacy during conversation. I won't be returning on my next annual trip!

Where to start? The hostess greeting you at the door is not expected to know everything about our vast menu but she should have directed you to the Maitre D. As for asking gor a table without persons on either side, do you really think it was a valid request? Name a restaurant where they have such tables. As for our bread basket, contrary to most other restaurants, they contain fresh daily slices of bread and white or brown toasts, and crackers. Maybe you mistook the bread for some pale toast. There is no other explanation. Our food is made with the best ingredients and its quality has been proven many times. We have papers to prove it. We have been is business for over 40 years ans served millions of people. Do you think we could have stayed in business that long if we has been as bad as you say. We agree that sometimes it happens that the service is not up to standard but thanks to your comments, these will used in our future ongoing meetings with our personnel. When you decide to come back ans give us another chance, make sure that you bring a copy of said comments and you shall receive something special and a little surprise. Answered bye the manager.

“Unique!”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

Very nice restaurant, staff are very attentive and knowledgeable and friendly, Very big wine list and nice menu, lots to choose from.

A bit cramped up but you get used to it very fast, the ambiance is very intertaining a bit loud but fun. They have this guy playing the accordion and singing

Food a bit pricey but very good, for a couple you can expect a minimum of $120 with a bottle of wine. I know that the Lasagna, Cannelloni and filet mignon is very good.

Might want to make reservation ahead as it gets very busy at any time of the week. They can get a bit pushy for you to order has they have lines of people waiting outside but we always take our sweet time and enjoy ourselves.

The Decor is awesome, walls are covered with collectible bottles, soccer balls and Ferrari memorabilia. check it out, it's worth it.

“Old Quebec City Streetscape”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

A very unique old world restaurant and exclusively enjoyed by members of the Ferrari Club. An extensive wine and liquor list, superb Italian menu and knowledgable/attentive wait staff.
It's walls and bar areas are adorned with hundreds, maybe thousands of collectible bottles, antique glassware and ceramic figurines which we found quite enjoyable!
We will keep Restaurant Parmesan on our "must dine there again list!"

“Really Enjoyed It.”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

The ambience is very unique with it's over 4000 bottles there is lots to look at. Very friendly staff and good service. My wife ate the sweetbreads and loved it. It is a little crammed but you get used to it real quick and it makes it easy to strike up up a conversation with the neighbours.

“Bit disappointing”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

Very lively (loud) atmosphere didn't make up for the fact that they didn't have our reservation and squeezed 8 of us onto a couple of tables next to the kitchen and the exit for the toilets, nor for the fact that the food was expensive and yet very average. Probably a great place to be if you're drunk, but not stone cold sober.

To read your comments, how did we ever succeed to be in business for over 40 years and serve millions of people. We are renowned around the world. We guess that the majority of them don't travel just to find or look for the negative in everything. You seem to be an unhappy person. Concerning the reservation, can you say with certainty whose fault it was? A restaurant that receives a reservation for 8 does not throw that reservation away believe me. At the door, we advertise the presence of an accordeonist. You should have expected to be noisy. Why wait weeks to complain about something that could have been fixed on the spot. We do move people that are not satisfied with the seating arrangement. As for the food, read about what most of our clients say about the flavour of it. Compared with same style restaurants, our prices are lower. Answered by the manager.
