This is a cozy little restaurant located in the heart of Quebec city. Consistently good food, I have eaten here several times on a recent visit. Delicious pork burger and always good daily specials. Great place to stop in for hot soup or a dessert and coffee.

Visited Old Quebec last summer, went to Le Cochon Dingue every morning for breakfast. Food is very good. Will definitely be returning this summer, and looking forward to trying more items on the menu!

Le Cochon was recommended by a friend who visits often, and was a good choice for us tourists! It will seem familiar to anyone who has a neighborhood eatery they keep coming back to. The menu was full of the usual and the not so usual choices, something for everyone it seems. Dinner & drinks were served quickly and the food tasty. Not too expensive.

This is one of favourite place when visiting Quebec City. Great atmosphere good food and very attentive staff. This location a little further from the old city however the restaurant can accommodate a lot of customers. Next time in town I will have to try lunch / dinner service.

Having been to Le Petit Cochon Dingue for coffee and a croissant, it was only fitting that we try it's big brother Le Cochon Dingue for dinner. All the reviews on Trip made it a tough choice between this restaurant and Le Lapin Sauté, to make the choice easier on us, we asked a local at a nearby store who said Le Cochon Dingue and so it was. Our server offered us a choice of a couple of tables and we passed by a table for two which amusingly said "worst table in the house, 10% off". Our waitress Ophelie was delightful and spoke perfect English, which is quite common, so I do not have to destroy local eardrums by using my high school French.
We had Boreale Doree which is an APA style locally brewed beer, light and slightly sweet. We decided to share a three cheese fondue and a full rack of ribs which Ophelie said was the speciality of the house. She mentioned that the fondue was not the dipping kind but deep fried and we decided to go ahead with it. Crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and served with a bed of greens with red onions and a balsamic dressing, this was a good start to the meal. The rack of ribs was served with a Caesar salad with shavings of Parmesan cheese and potato skins instead of the usual shoestring fries popular in Quebec. Despite being maple glazed, the ribs were not overly sweet but 'fall off the bone' delicious. The portion was pretty big and we barely managed to finish it between the two of us. Several reviewers had mentioned the sugar pie as being excellent, so although we were stuffed just had to try this delicious Quebec specialty. I looked it up online and understand that it really has only three ingredients in addition to the pie crust - Brown sugar, whipping cream and flour. Can be made using half maple syrup and half brown sugar. Either ways, this pie was creamy, light and magical. Not sickly sweet like pecan pie just delicate flavours and an all round delectable pie. Talking to Ophelie, we learned that Le Petit Cochon Dingue makes all the desserts for this place. All in all a terrific meal, great service; a perfect ending to our last evening in Quebec City. trip reviewers thank you for suggesting this place. Highly recommended.
