I just returned from a great trip to Quebec City and a stay at this B&B. From the moment I got there (after 10pm), I felt welcome and cared for by Guitta, the hostess. She is a very busy woman, cooking breakfast including homemade baked treats, cleaning, and catering to guests. She went out of her way every morning to sit down and visit at breakfast with everyone.
My room was on the top floor with a shared bathroom, but it was never a problem. Only one bedroom is on ground level, so climbing stairs may be required. I had a queen sized bed that was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this B&B. They do only accept cash, but I was clearly informed of this when I made reservation.

Perfect location inside the walls of the old city, free parking (never used our car for 3 days), bountiful and delicious breakfasts (with choice of 3 entrees), and helpful suggestions from Guitta, our host. The place is "historique" in charm, needs some updating, but is quiet and comfortable. Recommend the Thai restaurant around the corner and Cape Breton Crepes on Rue de St. Jean. Also the tour of the Governor General's home at the Citadel (free, tours on weekends only) was a highlight. And don't miss the Monmorency Falls on the outskirts of town. Thanks Guitta for a wonderful stay!

Room Tip: Blue room on the first floor was good size and had private bath

Very comfortable and a relaxing atmosphere. The breakfasts were great and the hosts had many suggestions of things to do and see. The location was very good since walking is the only way to see the old part of Quebec City.

Although I cannot say anything against its fabulous location right in the heart of Old Quebec with parking and excellent breakfasts, I do not agree with other visitors' comments about the hosts. We had booked two rooms for two nights and were welcomed by one of the daughters of the house who just helped with our luggage and showed the rooms before disappearing for the evening. No useful information given : we even had to manage by ourselves to find some bath towels and did not see the host before next morning at breakfast !
Fortunately conversation with other guests at the table warmed the atmosphere a little as Guitta was rather busy and cold... and we didn't meet Greg.

My husband and I stayed at Maison for two nights. It's an old house, nicely decorated with lots of art. It's perfectly located in the heart of the walled city. There is a parking on the site with no additional charge. We parked our car and didn't use it during our stay, because everything was within walking distance. Gita, the hostess, makes generous and tasty breakfast: orange juice, fruit salad, croissants, muffins, your choice of eggs, pancakes or French toast with bacon or sausages and good coffee or tea. We enjoyed our breakfast while having a pleasant conversation with other guests. This B&B has a homey feeling and I would recommend it to my friends.

Nothing but the kindest of words to our hosts Greg and Gitta. We really felt like royalty as guests in their home. It began at the door when we received our hand made knitted pontufs to walk about inside. The rooms are stunning and beautifully decorated authentically. Everything is in a traditional old style even the bathtub on its own legs. There was no TV but it was not missed. Gitta served the most wonderful and generous breakfast. Fresh fruit salad, freshly baked croissants and muffins and any kind of breakfast cereal you would need. But the best is the personally prepared french toast, pancakes or omelets (of your choice). Everything is served in authentic china and crystal. Greg is a treasure trove of information on all that is worth seeing and doing in this amazing city. The B&B is not cheap but for the price the value received is outstanding. Wifi works fast and well. AC is centrally controlled but fortunately was not needed. Parking is rationed but available. There is no use for the car in the old city itself. Walking is the best way to discover the area. The hosts provide plenty of recommendations for places to eat and what to see. The street is very quiet and located close to the wall in the upper part of the old town. Our room faced the street but was still very quiet.

There is so much to say... Greg was a wonderful, attentive, friendly and informative host. The breakfasts were delicious. This B&B is full of neat antiques and books. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of everything. The room was comfortable and quiet. The antique tub and hand shower was a bit of a challenge to use. One of the the two beautiful sleigh beds in our room had an extremely firm mattress while the other was very cozy. Though the B&B was full, we felt like we were the only ones there much of the time.
