It was a rainy day and breakfast had long since gone its way. We were cold and hungry and did not like the selection of food and prices anywhere near where we were, and we didn't want to sit outside in the rain. Then we happened on Le Pain Beni. Changed the day for us. It was truly the bright spot. The food and wine were excellent without gutting our wallet. The service provided by the welcoming hostess and by our waiter, Jean-Francois, was exceptional. Great suggestions, great sense of humor. It was like my imagination of a cafe in Paris had suddenly become a reality in Quebec City. Can't say enough nice things about this restaurant.

The food was exceptionally creative, delicious and beyond our expectations. Also loved the ambience and the wonderful service. We loved it so much, we went back to eat there again the next night.

Wife and I had dinner here our second night in Quebec City. We were looking for something good, but not overboard like the prior night. Ok service, good food with a foodie bent. Somewhat modern decor that was certainly not sumptious. I had some sort of duck breast thing that was very good, but not excellent. Dinner for two including apetizer and desert with 2 glass of champagne/kir royal each and a modest bottle of wine was only $115 a head or so USD. Not bad when the quality of the food is considered.

We had a late breakfast here. The food was great. There was a good variety of things to choose from. Service was really good and they spoke English, which was a plus. I would highly recommend.

The menu at this restaurant is not extensive but the dishes are five-star. If you are staying at Hotel Jardin Ste Anne or Hotel Champlain you are entitled to a discount as well. This restaurant serves breakfast as well.
