“As a japanese home”

i just love this restaurant! The family owner are great.Service is not to fast not too long, they take care of you, it is just perfect! We use to take the sushis plate for two or the bento box that we mix together. The tofu entree is marvelous and what about the soup! if i can put a name on it i would consider this restaurant as an authentic one. Try tatami table for two or with a group and don't forget to make a reservation. If not, there usally available table around 9'oclock(fr,sa). The good new is that you can bring your own wine. For me is one of the best restaurant( quality/price/service/ambiance).

“LIvely place, good food”
Reviewed April 12, 2011

Went here on a Sat nite, very crowded. Sat at the sushi bar.

Very good service, prices not cheap, but reasonable. I enjoyed the sushi. In the heart of a beautiful street, walked here from Delta Hotel in about 10b minutes.

“excellent value for price, better seafood than most upscale restaurants.”
Reviewed January 17, 2011

Of course, if you expect the local Japanese community to eat here, you're in for a long wait. There isn't enough a big enough Japanese community to support one of the few real Japanese restaurants in Québec city.

So what do you get? A sushi bar, with honourable, decent prices for servings and a good range of choices. Probably the only place in Québec city where you can eat sea urchin. I'm especially fond of their nigiri that the chef seasons with a teensy bit of wasabi. Another thing they do well is the tempura. Their tempura special is a big, and I mean BIG, plate of of seafood/vegetables tempura. The crust is crispy, the fish is tasty, the vegetable warm but still crunchy. There are also diverse bento assortments, and a suitable menu of Don Katsu and company.

Prices are very reasonable between 15-20$ for a meal that generally includes an agedashi dofu bite appetizer, a clear chicken broth soup, your main dish, and some of the specials come with a dessert. Green tea is included.

The service is warm and friendly, but if you pick sushi, how much you wait depends on the sushi chef's queue. It is not a BCBG place, and the plates and tables reflect that, but again so do the prices.

A nice place to have a friendly meal.

“If you are a real Sushi lover and know good Sushi, dont go here”
Reviewed January 4, 2009

Ouch. This place was recommended by our hotel .

First sign when you enter a sushi/Japanese restaurant and dont see many nationals of Japanese background, you should leave and we eventually did after the appetizer.

Its possibly one of these typical awful bring your own bottle bad restaurants. The Tempura looked like chinese over battered fast food and the calamari left little to desire. It took all 3 of us, 5 minutes after arrival of our appetizers to know it was time to leave.

We were not about to wait for the Sushi to arrive. The entire take of shoes etc in some area is OK but its also typical of most true sushi type places but this food needs a lit to be desired.
