The emphasis here is on the little. It reminded me of the small restaurants one occasionally sees in little french towns. We had lunch here. The inside was warm, intimate (read sort of cramped) and welcoming. It all lended itself to the atmosphere though. The lunch and local beer was good and the servers attentive and friendly.

Environment is good and the waiter is nice, friendly and willing to teach us French. I ordered the "to try elk burger" and my boyfriend ordered their steak. Their food is not as good as we expected after reading so many good reviews about it. The steak and the burger is just OK, not that impressive. We paid around $45 for these two.

We went to Sous Le Fort because of the tripadvisor ratings and we were not disappointed. Family of eight - to include grandparents - each with their own desire for food - some wanted healthy fare, while others wanted to taste local specialties. The kids wanted to try Poutine. We were are all tired from walking around the city for most of the day. Sous le Fort was a welcome retreat. Everyone was happy with their entrees and the service was exceptional. The waitresses are extremely attentive to everyone's needs and explained the menu, especially for the french words we didn't understand. Grandma added "of course people like it, they have pretty young waitresses." The food was awesome. A great place to experience our first Poutine - kids loved it - mess that it is. Well presented and delicious. An excellent choice for anyone. Tip: Try the Prix Fixe Lunch menu - great deal - appetizer (salad/soup), entree, dessert & coffee/tea for one flat price (approx $13 to $20 depending on what entree you select). Serving size is just right so you don't have leftovers. Go in mid-afternoon when we did - and you get a table quicker and probably get more attentive service.

We passed the Bistro while wandering and the interesting menu caught my attention. My wife selected the Bistro after reading reviews. We didn't realize it was the same place. Must have been destiny.
The room is cozy the staff was welcoming and attentive. Reine-Lise made the evening very enjoyable. She had a sense of humor and was accommodating to us and other guests. I would definitely return.

Rainy afternoon, arrived just in time to avoid lunch rush; were seated by a fireplace and ordered, of course!, the onion soup. Incredibly well proportioned, the cheese, the onion, the brood; to die for! Then the Point the Brie Plate; what else, all of the above with Clancy's red wine to smooth our palates. Smallest, closest, confined restaurant we have been in. Well done!
