This restaurant is a fantastic find. We first visited 8 years ago and were very keen to return. We were not disappointed. The revamp is lovely. The food is as good as ever. The staff are friendly in fact the best we encountered in Quebec. During our week in the city we ate here on three evenings. It would have been more but the funicular closed early during the first few days of our holiday. We would highly recommend this lovely cosy eatery.

We stopped in on a Thursday night for dinner and because it was early and off season we had the place to ourself. It seats 30 comfortably. It has an awesome decor and the food and service we great. We both had the table d'hote and it is great value for you $$.

We stumbled into this bistro quite by accident. We had tried other restaurants in Basse Ville, but all had waits of 40 plus minutes. We had given up and were just going to head to the Marche du Vieux Port when we turned up a side street and saw Bistro Sous le Fort. Raphael came out to tell us that he would come in if he were us and we were delighted that we did. One of us ordered a plain burger that was done to perfection, served hot with fabulous fries. One of us ordered the duck and pistachio rillettes--the duck was succulent and the onion jam added just the right note. The last of us ordered the elk burger with Camembert and it was flavorful and well prepared. We were glad that serendipity landed us in the little jewel. You might want to make reservations as there is not a lot of seating.

I went to this resto with my girlfriend for lunch. We got the french onion soup, beef burger, and elk burger. All the food was very delicious and the waitress was very nice and attentive.

The restaurant itself is pretty small but it has a very warm feel to it. Will definitely go back!

We had a 2 yo with us, so that made it a challenge, but the staff and chef were wonderful. The food was traditional bistro fare, perfectly prepared, and delicious.
