We came here for the Foie Gras experience. It was an experience. We ordered all 3 of them. The seared one was amazing and the 5 ways was very good too. I can't remember the other one. The lamb was one of the best I have had. The fish was delicious too - appetizer and entrée. Dessert was just okay. The drinks was expensive and the pour was not very generous. We got there at 7:30 and finished at 11. We got hungry in between our courses : )

We decided to celebrate our 11th Anniversary on a splashy meal, so we chose the Saint-Amour, having read fantastic reviews. We ordered a la carte, and went on a Sunday, then thought both moves were a mistake.
The service was fine enough, it was the food that underwhelmed entirely. Finess was very much lacking in our plates: the soups were passable, but not refined in flavor, the appetizer of rabbit ravioli and shrimp (23$) was seriously one small ravioli and two shrimp, with flavors that just didn't come together. The entrees were both disappointing. My mate's venison was properly cooked, but puddled in a too sweet sauce, with another brown (sweet) sauce as almost the sole accompaniment. Outside of two small yellow beets, and three rather dry, inedible small brown chestnuts, that was it. No color or other vegetable. Ugh.

My squab "stuffed with foie gras" tasted only very slightly of it, and there was no trace of foie gras to be seen. So that was a downer, even though the meat was ok. (it was $56!) It did come with some vegetables, and had a more cheerful presentation.

The wine recommended by our waiter was good, and we loved it when he offered a taste of the wine first. But the food proved so disappointing that this did not save our meal. We didn't stay for dessert or coffee, because we didn't want to prolong this pretentious experience.

We love spending serious money on serious food, but this was not an enjoyable way to spend $300 on a dinner for two. I thought that I should post this review only because we were really so surprised given all the raves.

This is not a restaurant, it is a Rococco palace with delicious food you feel you do not deserve to taste! Try the FOIE GRAS! Delicious!

We went here on the recommendation of our hotel concierge, who told us the chef is Quebec City's top chef. He was right. This was without a doubt the best dining experience we have ever had. Ever. And we're foodies. We had the smaller of the two tasting menus with wine parings. The food was absolutely exquisite. Fabulous flavours simply executed yet complex, particularly with the recommended wines. The service was impeccable as well. While some what expensive (though not as expensive as others in the city) it was well worth it. We cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. Go here and eat some of the finest québécois food you will ever have, which stands on the shoulders of food anywhere.

Our party of six visited Le Saint-Amour tonight for supper and all left very happy and very satisfied. The wine list was extraordinary and our servers were top-notch, offering their insights and stepping in at all the right times. Small touches were very much appreciated by the entire party. Fabulous and reasonably-priced fixed course menu for $65 with generous portions, rest of the menu is fairly priced, but I would wager to say that you get what you pay for. Beautiful atmosphere under an open garden dome. A memorable experience, definitely will return when I come back to Quebec City!
