Description: The magic of the Petit-Champlain district adds to the charm of the Lapin Sauté. By day, this pedestrian street comes alive with the sounds of chatter. By night, the lighting makes shadows dance on the walls of the street's historic houses. Dining at the Lapin Sauté is akin to walking into a warm, quaint and cozy inns from the early 20th century. There is nothing better than sitting in the comfort of this small, friendly 32-seat restaurant where you're always welcomed with open arms. During the summer, the Lapin expands to 52 seats with its outdoor terrace and patrons flock here under the warm sun. In the winter, a fire warms your heart and soul as you discover local country products made and served like nowhere else.

A charming restaurant in the Old City with expertly prepared comfort food to match. The rabbit pie is delicious, as is the cassoulet. Best to book, especially with all the cruise ships lurking, but even without a reservation the wait was not too long. Lovely patio dining when the weather is nice and fireplace cozy inside when it is not.

Food is just fantastic. They use really good ingredients and cook it well. We had brunch and lunch (twice) there in 3 days we were in Quebec City. The weekend brunch is great. Loved the rabbit rillete. We experienced good service from all the different staff that served us. Alex is especially friendly and helpful.

Lapin Saute is found in Lower Old Town. We were there on a busy October Sunday when two cruise ships were in harbor. Even so, right at prime lunch hour, we only waited maybe 5 minutes for a table inside. The day was just barely warm enough that they were able to use the outdoor tables as well.

We both had the French onion soup which was fantastic. The bowl was at least half full of onions topped with a rich broth and then crowned with not one but three thick, toasted pieces of French bread and loads of cheese. Delicious. The soup, however great it was, didn't hold a candle to the apple sugar pie. Oh my goodness. That is divinity! I felt ever so sorry for my husband who had the blueberry pie although he insisted his was amazing too.
The price for soup, pie, drinks and tip was $70. Was it worth it ....YES!!!!

We love this very popular restaurant. The food is fabulous (Quebec comfort) and the service very friendly. The Tourte Lapini (rabbit pie - pic attached) was superbly flavoured and very filling. For dessert, my wife had the sugar apple pie (sinful but delicious) and I had the local cheese plate, which was also very good.

It is very busy. We showed up for lunch at 11:30 and it was full before noon. Good selection of beers and wines by the glass.

It is not cheap, but good value.

Went there with a bunch of friends last summer. We ended up having to wait over an hour for a table for four due to the long line up. Also, apparently the restaurant's information systems were down, which caused severe delays in processing the bills, etc. Another disappointing note was that the waiter made a mistake in our order despite reiterating it 2-3 times... so overall, the service was very disappointing. The food, however, was delicious and the portion generous. I had the rabbit pie, which I recommend.
