“Wow, if there's one place to eat at - this is it!”
Reviewed August 31, 2008

My husband and I celebrated our one year anniversary at this restaurant. It was a short walk from the hotel we stayed at in Old Quebec. We were greeted with tuxedoed servers and at one point when we found ourselves sitting next to a very loud table the waiter quickly found us a new table.
The meal was unbelievable and the ambiance and service was outstanding. For dinner, I started with the Foie Gras which was beautiful and my husband had the Carpaccio. The presentation was so nice. We decided to share the Chateaubriand For Two and had a plate of International cheeses to eat with it as well. The dinner was served was brought out on a Flambe table and served to us in that manner...every bite of this meal melted in my mouth and I thought I was in heaven.
As far as cost, it was a pricey dinner but not ridiculous...we had a nice wine for around $50 dollars and a couple of drinks to start so in total I believe the bill was around $250.

“A special dining treat”
Reviewed June 2, 2008

Le Continental Restaurant, located at 26 St. Louis Street is just a "stone's throw" from the famous Chateau Frontenac Hotel. In business since 1956, it offers an uncommon dining experience as many flambe dishes are prepared tableside. We often begin our meal with the Caesar salad for two, prepared fresh at table side. Other appetizers available include Snails, Snow Crab, Smoked Salmon, Scallops, Sweetbreads and Foie Gras. Soups include French Onion, Minestrone and Lobster Bisque. A special treat is authentic Dover Sole. The waiter will debone the fish tableside, removing the bones in a single piece. Filet Mignon, Sirloins, Shrimp and Orange Duckling are also prepared flambe at tableside. The Chateaubriand for two, while not prepared tableside, is also one of our favorite dishes. Flambe deserts and coffee liqueurs are also featured. For almost ten years we have celebrated a meal at Le Continental on our annual trip to Quebec City and will continue to visit for the food and atmosphere.
