“Best in Canada”
Reviewed November 28, 2012

Well not only is this the best restaurant in Quebec City, but I think it has a rightful claim to best in Canada. The cooking has finesse not easily found in the typically great but uber-rich dishes of Quebec.

Clearly influenced by Grant Achatz, this is not on par with Alinea (about 1/3 of the dishes were)... but it's not as far behind as you may think. 15 course meal with wine was about the right amount of food, and service was top notch - wine pairings were well done, and I rarely say that. Bottom line: Go immediately. Second best meal of the year (behind a repeat visit to Alinea). It's well worth the drive out into the middle of nowhere.

“A 'must experience in your lifetime' type of restaurant”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

Alinea, Per Se, Michel Richard, WD 50, Boulud, Toque, and now La Taniere!
All amazing restaurants I've had the fortune to dine at but this restaurant is up there and likely the best 'food experience' I ever had.

We dined on a Thursday night (I strongly recommend coming in on a Wed or Thurs as a table is harder to find on the weekends) and were not quite expecting what we were about to live. We had heard great things about this restaurant but the entire meal was simply out of this world. 10, 15 and 20 course options are the only way one can dine at la Taniere. Yes, it is not an everyday restaurant so there is quite a pricetag but I felt as if we were given tremendous value for our money, more than in any 2 or three Michelin Star restaurant I have dined at.

We chose the 10 course menu as this evening had started as a casual night out for us but were sad to see the evening end after the 10th course. We will most definately be back shortly to enjoy the full 20 course experience...can't wait!

If you are an adventurous diner who thinks he's seen it all, you have to come to La Taniere when in Qc. I eat out 4-5 times a week and never post online comments but this place is something to write home about! Enjoy!

“Total seduction”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

Each course was a spectacular work of art that surprised the senses. Expensive meal (600$ for 2) ,but worth the experience. Choosing to dine here means giving in to the unknown & allowing yourself to taste food in a way you never knew you could. My husband was floored & said he would never forget his special birthday dinner celebration. I feel very fortunate to have dined here. Once in a lifetime kind of experience.

“a great experience”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

It isT not only eating a good meal, it is a real great experience to live. Three `tables d'hote`to chose: 10,15 or 20 services. Molecular cuisine with the right wine for each service. This is undescrible. You have to live it.
