We ducked into Le Petit Italie during a storm and enjoyed a meal feeling secure at an open window table looking over a beautiful herb planter box. For a starter we had a delightful smoked salmon salad. It was the right combination of salmon, greens, capers and red onion. The dressing was non existent but because olive oil was brought to the table, it made it easy to combine the olive oil with the fresh lemon. The risotto with lobster was pretty good as was the Osso bucco. Both were substantial, served with grated cheese. Dessert was delicious-- rich chocolate cake and Carmel flan. I like the one price - 3 course meal. Service was good. Ambiance was lovely and many families shared the restaurant as well as couples.

Located on St-Louis street in Old Quebec, not too far from Chateau Frontenac, La Petite Italie offers a wide variety of Italian specialties from pastas to veal, to seafood.served in a no frill ambiance. I took the "Table d'hôte" that included a smoked salmon appetizer, an osso bucco that was great and plenty, a chocolate cake and regular coffee for a faire price. My wife took the limon veal scallops that were tender and flavorful. They have a small wine list that offers a lot of 1/2 bottles. The service was good and friendly. Ask to be seated on the nice and cosy small terrace at the rear of the restaurant, Good and simple italian feast!

ordered seafood au gratin - seafood was my opinion the type of frozen that you get at a discount in a grocery store - completely blah. Accompanying fettucine was very unimaginative and when I asked for grated cheese I was told they didn't have it! Grilled vegetables had no flavour whatsoever, no spices, completely bland. Wait staff okay.

Enjoyed the pasta trio, generous portions, freshly prepared for us. Great service and wonderful table by the window- great for people watching! Loved it! Very good value- one of the best and least expensive dinners we had while we stayed in the city.

This is not fine dining.
I initially wanted to get a table at de conti but they were booked out. I was tired and cold so I opted to cross the street and have something quick to eat and return to the hotel.
It is very basic food . Nothing you would necessary go back for but edible.
The garlic bread was disappointing. It appeared to be pressed bread rolls cut in half. The spaghetti bolognese was ok. The wine good. The tiramisu did not appear to have been made on the premises. Had a mass production look and taste to it.
The portions are huge and the price is very reasonable for its location. A table by the window allows you to people watch.
The service was very good. The lady that served me was polite and the meal arrived fast.
