“Awesome food and service in a great decor”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

Went to La Cremaillere on our recent trip to Quebec City and we were very happy with our choice. Obviously, this is not a cheap restaurant but I think it is well worth the price. We were a big group (11 in all) which is not easy to serve but everything was handled perfectly and the Maitre D, seeing that we were in a joking mood joined in once in a while; he was a pretty funny guy! Everyone was happy with their meals; my son had the Steak Tartare and I must admit I was a bit jealous because it looked absolutely awesome. All in all, a very enjoyable evening and I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for a high end French restaurant in Quebec City.

“Excellent Meal”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

We walked in on a Friday night without a reservation and were very graciously given a table. It is a rather formal restaurant with wonderful food and service. The wait staff were professional and friendly. We ordered one of the prix fixee options - two appetizers, soup and dessert with tea or coffee for approximately $50 each which was very reasonable. The food was delicious; a real find.

One of our best meals anywhere -- we did the pric fixe menu. Attentive and courteous service; a very sophisticated restaurant.

“Probably my favourite restaurant of our Canada trip”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

We were taken to this restaurant while on a food and wine walking tour of Quebec City and it looked so nice that we booked a table for dinner.

It was probably the best of all of the restaurants that we went to while in Canada and it was up against some fairly strong competition.

The setting and the staff are very traditional and they could not have been kinder - nothing was too much trouble and they were very friendly. The restaurant is lined with really interesting art and the tables are very spacious with loads of space between tables.

The food was absolutely delicious, with a great selection of fish and the most wonderful homemade salmon tartare. We didn't bother with puddings, though some of them sounded delicious, but finsished with a plate of fantastic cheeses and a glass of red - they were quite happy to open a bottle for us, rather than making us drink the ubiquitous house red.

All in all, a lovely experience in quite a grand setting, but with relaxed, friendly unpretentious service.

“Outstanding for our 20th Anniversary”
Reviewed September 17, 2013

We decided to make the reservations to La Cremaillere based on its location in the Old City and its present ranking on Tripadvisor. We were NOT disappointed. The service was impeccable however not over done or stuffy. There were no less than 5-6 different people who served our table throughout the evening. My wife and I were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. My wife had the beef filet and I had the duck & both dishes were excellent. When I made the reservations I had told the restaurant that this was our 20th wedding anniversary and when dessert came it had sparklers put into the Chocolate tort. The owners son also played on a guitar next to our table "Your to good to be True" - Frank Vallee's 1960's hit w/ a bit of a French flare. A night never to be forgotten. La Cremaillere is #1 in our hearts and can wait to go back.
