Description: Le Charbon est l’Authentique steakhouse à Québec. Le Charbon is the authentic steakhouse in Quebec City. From the first day, the quality and freshness of its products have made it an inescapable establishment in the Old Capital, in the unique ambiance of the historic site of the Old Train Station. The Charbon’s cuisine is worthy of the most renowned steakhouse in the world: maple-charcoal-grilled cooking, AAA «Sterling Silver» Western Canadian beef, minimum 30-day aging process as well as dry aging of certain cuts.

“Excellent Don't Miss”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

Excellent, don't miss if you are a steak lover. The waitress' knowledge of the menu was extraordinary. We asked her what the best items on the menu are. She replied that the rib steaks are their speciality, and come in 2 sizes. Aged 30 days, then dry aged for 3 weeks. 2 of us ordered them Pittsburgh style. Charred on the outside, rare on the inside. Amazing ! One of the best if not the best rib steaks ever. Overall, superb food and ambience. Highly, highly recommend.

“Excellent meal”
Reviewed December 2, 2012

An excellent well-staffed restaurant located in the train station in the heart of old Quebec City. We did not have a reservation but were promptly seated, the restaurant was busy but guests were well attended to. We were quick to get menus & place our order, our waiter was knowledgeable and able to speak English (uncommon in Quebec City). The aroma of grilled steak was mouth-watering and the decor was warm and welcoming, a large room made cozy with oversized lanterns and large bar in the center. Our steak was cooked evenly and exactly as we ordered, the ribs were delicious. Ceasar salad was loaded with bacon, capers & cheese (soooo delicious). We also noticed lots of locals, always a good sign. Walking distance from many hotels.

“Fine Dining in Train Station!”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

After several nights dining in fancy restaurants in Old Quebec, we decided to try a nice restaurant specializing in steak. Charbon was recommended to us by several people so we decided to try it. I was a little skeptical because in my travels, train station restaurants are not usually destinations (well, of course there is The Oyster House in Grand Central Station NYC). Anyway, it was lovely and we ate on the large patio with lots of flowers and trees to look at. The food was very good and the service started out as outstanding but did diminish as the meal went on. If you're looking for large servings, lovely patio (inside was nice but a little dark), and excellent steak, Charbon is for you.

“Wow !”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

The food at Charbon was fantastic. The atmosphere was perfect. We (family) had the Filet Mignon, Prime Rib, and Pork. Everything was cooked perfectly.

The only negative I can think of is that the booths are a bit squishy (table is too close to the back of the bench).

“Our best restaurant experience in Quebec city”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

Our party of 8 voted this our best dining this trip! Our server Nadine was the best! Ask for her! Food was wonderful, service excellent. Not sure why this restaurant is not rated higher than it is. We also dined at le Saint-Amour (food good service not as it should be for that type of restaurant) and Portofino (great pizza - lively atmosphere).
