“Authentic and probably one of the top 3 restaurants in town!”

This restaurant is a must. The food is authentic and the atmosphere is cozy. Feels like France. Have thd boudin (blood sausage) if you are feeling adventurous. It's pretty amazing!

“An Excellent Meal Was Had By All!”
Reviewed July 21, 2011

Rarely are we able to dine as a family that everyone's meal was prepared to perfection. In this case everyone was thrilled, the duck, rabbit, steak, & ravioli were all prepared to perfection! The service was excellent - French may be their main language but they were very helpful in translating the menu for us. If you're looking for a real French restaurant with wonderful service, give them a go. A definite do over.

“Wonderful food, great atmosphere!”
Reviewed July 16, 2011

We had dinner at Cafe St-Malo on our last night in Quebec. I had researched several restaurants (tripadvisor and Chowhound) and based on the positive reviews, we decided to check it out. I liked immediately how it didn't feel like a tourist trap (like a lot of the places in the upper town). The food was fantastic--we both had the fish soup as a starter and it was to die for--serioulsly, we were still talking about it the next day! We loved our main courses, too--I had the steak frites and my husband the cassoulet. George and Eric were our servers--both were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We recommended it to everyone at our B & B and anyone who visits Quebec.

P.S. Just thought I should mention--the menu is very "meat-centric" and I didn't notice any vegetarian options.

“moules-frites par excellence!”
Reviewed July 6, 2011

Went there for lunch after reading the many reviews on Trip Advisor. We started with soup: My wife had the lobster bisque and I had the french onion soup. Both were excellent. This was followed by mussels and french fries. The most tender mussels we have had since we lived in France! LOTS of them and then real home made/home peeled and cut french fries. I had almost forgotten what real french fries taste like. We would definitely recommend
