“Excellent for breakfast and dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2013

A smart cafe restaurant in Rue Saint Jean away from the tourist areas, pleasant relaxed ambiance, quiet jazz playing in background, good staff / service, local diners. Had two breakfasts and one dinner here. Breakfasts were really very good, not overdone or huge as are some Canadian breakfasts, good food and coffee / tea. Dinner was steak frites for both of us, with Moosehead beer, followed by "Baghdad Cafe" dessert (amazing!) and coffee. Good value, excellent food and service. Highly recommended.

“Very enjoyable Supper”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2013

We decided on The Hobbit for our supper out on our Quebec trip this November. The restaurant is very comfortable to be in and the Waiter was friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful! We ordered the Lasagne and the burger. I do have to say the Lasagne is a bold combination of strong flavors that my boyfriend was a little overwhelmed by so we switched meals and as a result I got to try both dishes. The burger was flavorful and juicy and the salads are crisp and not overly dressed, just right. The matchstick fries are crispy and not drowned in salt. We were brought bread and butter to snack on while we waited for our meal and it was fresh and soft and the perfect way to start off as we were very hungry after a busy day touring the city.
I ordered the dessert of the day and I unfortunately cannot remember what its name was but it was wonderful as well, a Chocolate mousse with dark cherries throughout and poached pears on the side.
Would definitely eat here again

“Onion Soup”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2013 via mobile

Saw a highly recommended onion soup review but was a little disappointed. The soup was good but very salty (like a lot of onion soups). The ambience was quiet and the service friendly.

“Great food and atmosphere! ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013 via mobile

We visited this restaurant which was only a couple of blocks away from the convention center. Friendly, capable staff and a marvelous menu makes this spot worthwhile. Great atmosphere and not too expensive! I had a duck and spinach stuffed cheese cannelloni; exquisite.

“Very impressed!”

This little hip but charming restaurant was a great recommendation ! The salmon shrimp mousse was soooo good I wanted to order more but decided to save myself! Everything was better then I expected, possibly the best dining experience of the trip!
