Description: Le Chic Shack is a new gourmet burger/milk shake restaurant opened in June 2012. We also serve poutines, fries and salads. For dessert, we offer milk shakes and ice cream sandwiches. The owners of Le Chic Shack are the sister-brother team of Lucy and Evan Price. They are also owners of the renowned Auberge Saint-Antoine and Panache restaurant in Quebec City. Located in a historic building owned by their family for five decades, Le Chic Shack reflects their culinary and interior design expertise. In creating their new restaurant, Lucy and Evan worked closely with their management team and Chef Mikael Garneau, previously of Panache, The Culinary Edge of San Francisco (California) and their local supplier base.Beyond our tasty recipes, these are some features that make Le Chic Shack stand out:* brioche buns made by local artisan baker Borderon et fils * sweet potato fries (along with fries from white potatoes)* uniquely built poutines - from side to main course dishes* milk shakes and ice cream sandwiches made with old fashioned coaticook ice cream * our own fruit sodas and ice tea* draft beer from the local Archibald brewery* draft wine selected by the sommelier of the Panache restaurant* the dynamism and energy of an open kitchen* a relaxed dining environment with tremendous views of the Chateau Frontenac through large French windowsLe Chic Shack is located on the Place d'Armes in the Vieux-Quebec (Old Quebec), facing the Chateau Frontenac and below the Musee du Fort.

Started by the Price family who owns many properties and the award-winning Panache restaurant in Quebec City, this is a quaint burger joint featuring Quebec City's famous "Poutine" (means "a mess" - fried potatoes, gravy, cheese curds in a bowl) dishes with a creative twist - like Coq au Vin Poutine, for example. Everything is made in house - pickles, buns, everything. Delicious! And in an ideal location at the bottom of Rue St. Ann across from the Fairmont Frontenac Hotel.

Fantastic views of Chauteau Frontenac and the Terrace --- we loved people watching from inside while feasting on the best burgers we've ever had! I chose the Bison burger with roquefort cheese, madeira mushrooms, arugula, gentleman’s steak sauce, and horseradish aioli on a fantastic freshly baked and toasted bun. Paul enjoyed their house beef burger. We typically order our burgers medium rare and were educated by Antoine that in Canada - the burgers are regulated to a specific heat to ensure no health issues are caused by too are of a burger. Paul was worried his burger would be dry - but it was anything but! Juicy, moist - perfection. We even tried poutine for the first time! Loved it! This isn't just a 'burger joint' ...it's an experience. Really cool vibe - true gourmet burgers and other entree's offered.

This was our third visit to Le Chic Shack. The first two were in the winter and this visit was in peak season. Being very busy did not diminish the quality or the service. Excellent service and amazing food. If you are thinking of going, just do it. Antoine was a pure pleasure to talk to and let us know they opened only last year which impressed us even more. Enjoy your wonderful tasting meal.

I actually loved this little tourist trap! The small portions were nice as I hate to feel too full and I hate to waste food! The house fries were seasoned with Parmesan and shallots and delicious! The salad was fresh! The chocolate milk shake was split between the three of us and a perfect sweet ending to our lunch.

Another restaurant where you order for yourself at the cashier, and then pay before you get the food. Makes it odd when thinking about the tip amount. I guess you could not tip at the counter, and leave a cash tip afterward?

I wasn't very hungry so I ordered just a small poutine, which was very small, but good. My daughter, who doesn't like burgers misunderstood the menu and changed her selection to the basic burger, and her burger was very good.

Tried their house soft drinks, but the flavouring was very subtle, a bit too much for my taste.

Overall, good food, not expensive, good value.
