Description: Le Chic Shack is a new gourmet burger/milk shake restaurant opened in June 2012. We also serve poutines, fries and salads. For dessert, we offer milk shakes and ice cream sandwiches. The owners of Le Chic Shack are the sister-brother team of Lucy and Evan Price. They are also owners of the renowned Auberge Saint-Antoine and Panache restaurant in Quebec City. Located in a historic building owned by their family for five decades, Le Chic Shack reflects their culinary and interior design expertise. In creating their new restaurant, Lucy and Evan worked closely with their management team and Chef Mikael Garneau, previously of Panache, The Culinary Edge of San Francisco (California) and their local supplier base.Beyond our tasty recipes, these are some features that make Le Chic Shack stand out:* brioche buns made by local artisan baker Borderon et fils * sweet potato fries (along with fries from white potatoes)* uniquely built poutines - from side to main course dishes* milk shakes and ice cream sandwiches made with old fashioned coaticook ice cream * our own fruit sodas and ice tea* draft beer from the local Archibald brewery* draft wine selected by the sommelier of the Panache restaurant* the dynamism and energy of an open kitchen* a relaxed dining environment with tremendous views of the Chateau Frontenac through large French windowsLe Chic Shack is located on the Place d'Armes in the Vieux-Quebec (Old Quebec), facing the Chateau Frontenac and below the Musee du Fort.

The poutine and milkshakes here were wonderful. Prices were good, We sat side by side at the window, looking out onto the Chateau Frontinac. An excellent inexpensive start to our evening

This amazing little restaurant is tucked into the basement of Musee Le Fort just across from the famous QC Chateau! Definitely not to be missed ... Dark chocolate and espresso milkshakes that can be spiced up with kahlua and bailey's cream; bison and rib and lobster burgers, braised beef and wild mushroom poutines ... All truly amazing! We will most certainly return. Our kids loved it too.

This place has a unique concept and does a great job all-around. We sat in the open kitchen area and watched football while we ate. :) the veggie burger is very good because it is homemade from scratch. My husband really liked the cog au vin poutine but said it was very rich. The vert (salad) is really good! They also serve microbrewed beer. Enjoy!!!

Poutine is a must for us in Canada, and Le Chic Shack in Quebec City has gone over the top! Went there for lunch on 2 consecutive days. We tried 3 different recipes on the menu, and they were all amazing. The beer selections (local brews) were fantastic, and offered everything from pale to dark. Our only complaint was that we weren't in town long enough to try the burgers!

Going on the looks of things on the Travel Advisor site I saw many folks who had enjoyed a fine casual meal at Le Chic Shack. We were welcomed and shown to our table with a menu, left to make our selections, and then when ready to approach the checkout with our order was told the computer was down and could we wait? Sure. A short five minutes later we were told we could place our order...if we had cash; credit card line down and computer back up. After doing business and awaiting our order we had one burger brought to the table (out of two), a long wait and the ordered milkshake appeared. Another wait and the other burger arrived. Soon a single order of Poutine. Later, much later, after all was finished, the last order of Poutine was served. Not for sure what the cause of all the confusion, but possibly the fault of computers, that could not be overcome by the staff at hand, either serving or in the kitchen. Great food, iffy service, at best.

We appreciate you taking the time to post your comments on your experience at our restaurant. You are right to say that our computer system went down just as we were opening for lunch. This caused disruption, not only in taking the orders but also in the kitchen production line. We have back-up procedures but we didn't implement them immediately as we (mistakenly) thought that we would restore the system rapidly. It took about a half-hour at a critical moment in the day. This was also the first computer system failure since we opened 6 months ago. We are very sorry for how this impacted you and our other customers during that lunch. As a result of comments such as yours, we continue to improve our customer service and response to unwelcome incidents, such as this one. We thank you very much.
