“They go above and beyond”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

We stayed in Room 8 for 3 nights and could not have been more pleased with this property, its stellar staff, and the made-to-order breakfasts. The location is away from the heavily touristed areas which was a plus in our book. We had an unusual family situation develop while staying here which required us to try to locate a notary and Antonio could not have been more helpful in trying to locate one on a Sunday and helping us fax documents to Chicago. It was above and beyond what we had expected. Room 8 has an incredibly comfortable couch and ottoman which we enjoyed in our breaks from touring around. I was initially a bit weirded out by the very public placement of the glass shower in our room, but got used to it. The room was spotless. Others have mentioned recommendations for meals in the area and I concur with La Guele de Bois and would add Le Cercle which is on St. Joseph Street about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. This was our third trip to Quebec City and if we ever get another chance to visit we will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Room 8 is spacious and offers 3 different views of the city.

We stayed here for 5 nights and found the room to be very comfortable. We actually had two rooms reserved because of a third person in our party, and she enjoyed her room very much as well. There are only 10 rooms in the entire hotel. It was once an artist's studio and displays a theme of Van Gogh throughout.

If you are an American you will find a few things you may not expect. First a double room means one double bed, not two as in the US. We did manage to get a King bed (extra charge) which is hard to find in Quebec. Second, the parking was across the street from the hotel in a parking garage for which you had to acquire a fob to open and close. They did park the car for us upon arrival. It was just a little confusing.

The main concern for some of you might be the fact that the hotel is on three levels and there is no elevator. Some of the stairs are pretty steep. This is not for anyone who can't easily climb stairs. They did bring up our luggage for us in keeping with their excellent service.

Although the hotel is located between two fairly busy streets the sound insulation is amazing! There was virtually no street noise, and the quality of the windows and shutters were top notch. They do offer air conditioning in each room, and it is all no smoking. The security is excellent with doors that can be only opened with your room key and it has video surveillance at street level. The beds were comfortable (we are extremely picky) and they had coffee service in room (but it was not too good) and free bottles of water.

The breakfast as others have mentioned was very good with several choices. They even offer up something for vegetarians. There is plenty to eat to start your day and will keep you full until you find a suitable place for you next meal. The nearby restaurants we found were not exactly to our liking so we found our best meals were things we purchased from a local food market and brought back to the breakfast dining area. In this regard the service went above and beyond, particularly by Cindy who assisted us with providing all the place settings we needed to make our meal pleasurable. We did not have much luck in finding restaurants in QC that met our expectations for quality relative to cost. Even the recommendations of TripAdvisor were not that helpful in that regard. Not sure why in a place that so resembles France, finding an excellent meal is elusive.

Of course the food observation has nothing to do with the hotel, but it is something you might want to know while staying in QC. Overall the hotel is located conveniently if you don't mind a little walking and the possibility of climbing stairs or steep streets. Mainly the service at this hotel is some of the best we have ever encountered. Definitely worth staying there!

Room Tip: Make sure you understand the bed situation and the fact there are a lot of stairs to the top floor.

A great place to stay. Within walking distance of the main attractions. Very friendly and helpful staff suggesting local restaurants (try La Gueule de Bois) and places to see. The rooms are spotlessly clean but quite small, the see through shower was OK but I would prefer the toilet to be in a separate room.
Breakfast was good.
The rooms were VERY quiet which is rare in city hotels.

Auberge Le Vincent is a wonderful hotel. The staff is as friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out. The breakfast was excellent. We were surprised to have a choice of approximately 8 optioms. Each option included a nice portion of fresh berries, melons, and kiwi. The homemade apricot and strawberry jam was a nice touch. The room was spacious, clean, and very quiet (even with our room overlooking a street). The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The hotel is roughly a ten to fifteen minute walk to the old town.

We found this lovely inn on Trip Advisor and the past reviewers were absolutely correct in their assessments. From the moment we arrived and we so graciously welcomed by the staff, the Auberge lived up to its reviews. Everyone there was welcoming, friendly, and helpful, anxious to please and assist in any way necessary. The breakfast were absolutely delicious. Our room was lovely, comfortable, and included every acccommodation you could imagine. This is where you want to stay in Quebec City.

Very clean, well-stocked rooms. Unfortunately we were given the only room that had a twin bed instead of a queen, so low value for money score. Breakfast was amazing...a great fuel-up before a day of excursions. Service from all the staff was fast, friendly and helpful. Better than a hotel...one of the best places we've ever visited.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the south side of the building, and make sure it has a queen-size bed.

The Auberge was a fantastic, clean, full of ambience. The rooms were very sexy and at the same time very warm and inviting.
The staff was absolutely wonderful, helpful and uber accommodating. Even when I asked for some little extras because it was our 24th anniversary, they were more than prepared to help us obtain anything we wanted. I asked for a special room preparation for when we arrived, they had ready and waiting a bottle of wine that I requested ( the make and type exactly) but they also got for the room fresh cut flowers in a vase. Absolutely wonderful.
I really loved the glass bath room with the all glass shower right in the room (wink wink, loved that! And so did my wife )
They had great suggestions for sights to see and restaurants to go to.
Finally the one thing that we really enjoyed was the wonderful breakfasts. I did not want to have breakfast anywhere else it was that good.

The one thing I would suggest is that you bring your best walking shoes and legs there are list of hills and stairs.
Also I highly suggest that if you plan to to go somewhere that was suggested by friends runn it past the staff first. We went to a restaurant that was recommended by a work colleague and got stung. When we ran it past the staff after that poor experience they were sorry we had not mention it first a the would have recommended somewhere else.
Also please let them know when you book the room that you want indoor parking, it is worth the small cost and makes having your car there convenient.
