“Superb service, good value -- a good choice”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2014

Our family of 4 enjoyed a very satisfying dinner here. The service was exceptionally welcoming and attentive, the setting quite charming, and the menu included a number of kid friendly choices such as pizza, ribs and a mac and cheese rich enough to tempt the adults. The fish platter also looked interesting and the poutine au canard contained an unusually generous serving of duck. With reasonable prices, everyone agreed this was a real find in the old town.

“Well worth considering”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2014

After a previous disastrous value experience we were weary of the Old Town dining. Then we saw this new entry on TA. Right in the middle of the upper city; in one of the attractive side streets off Rue Saint Louis, we received a friendly welcome. Advice from our waiter was helpful and appropriate. Prices were very visitor-friendly given the awesome location, and that included the wines. This is perhaps not the finest dining in Quebec City, but I bet it is near the top in terms of value.

The poutine with duck was excellent but filling - I would share next time. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her duck mousse and fried ravioli. The four of us left full of appreciation at not getting ripped off again. If we had stayed nearer to the upper town we would have been back.

“Nice Lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2014

We wondered into this restaurant by luck on a day trip to Quebec City. The staff are very friendly. I had the Poutine with Port Gravy and Duck which was very well done and very good, the prices here are very reasonable and food was good.

“Worth Detour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2014 via mobile

Off St. Louis on side street but worth passing by some of the most expensive restaurants in Quebec. Prices are reasonable, food is well prepared and service is friendly and accommodating. Menu is somewhat limited but has at least one selection for each food group. I especially liked the scallops, Shrimp and Fish & Chips and the Fries were very good. Wine and beer menu limited but inexpensive and varied enough to satisfy

“Assiette du pecheur”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2014

From the lovely young lady outside the restaurant to the wonderful creme caramel dessert, this restaurant ranks as a delight. Situated on the hill of Rue Desjardins, its nondescript entry way belies the decor and atmosphere inside. The menu offers a variety of dishes but their signature dish, the seafood Assiette de pecheur, is wonderful. Using saffron in the seasoning, mussels, prawns, scallops and salmon combine to make this a memorable dinner. It was an excellent start to a casual walk around the Chateau Frontenac and the scenery of the St. Lawrence River.
