The B&B is in an excellent location for exploring the old center. Our room which came with a private bathroom was large and decently maintained, but offered amenities and comfort on par with what you should expect from a B&B in an older building, and felt 'cold' in a vaguely institutional way.

Parking at the back was indeed a bonus but given the size and situation of the garage, getting in and out could be a hassle at times. Our reception was not as warm than it might have been as the owners were apparently on holiday during our stay (a Victoria Day long weekend, not this year) and had left the place to a caretaker who was usually absent (checking in took some time because of this). We also had rather loud neighbours banging their way up and down the stairs at random hours which was a tad annoying. You will be warned about the owners' cats who roam around freely in the building, something we do not usually mind except when one would enter our room and refuse to leave despite being asked very politely....

overall, you would not be disappointed if you set your expectations at the right level for a city B&B, but the glowing charm that we had come to expect from the reviews here was just not there. I could chalk this up to the owners not being there during our stay but then the whole place, in my experience, did not feel 'warm and cozy' as many great B&Bs do.

A lovely family run B&B. Very charming, clean and comfortable. On the top floor where we stayed, there were four rooms and 2 shared bathrooms which were always clean during our three-day stay. Decent amenities, comfortable beds. We had a room for three persons, with two double beds and adequately spacious. A washbasin in room meant that you didn't have to use the shared bathrooms for tooth brushing and face washing. Traditional Quebecois breakfasts were absolutely divine; completely filling and very tasty as well as varied each day. We fell in love with Pascal's crepes! A few steps off the Rue St. Louis thoroughfare on a quiet street, yet in the middle of the old city. We plan to stay there again and again...

I was in Québec city 2 days and I stayed in Chez Hubert B&B. Location is very good, in the heart of the old city and with train station and airport easy to reach. The room is very charming and clean, with all the facilities inside. The breakfast was amazing, plenty of delicious food, a real pleasure as wake up. The staff is very kind, a family always nice and ready to help you with anything. The town is also charming, very European style but with the Canadian charme at the same time, a nice experience that I recommend to anyone

We had a great stay with Marjorie & Pascal. The building had style, the room was great and the breakfasts were varied. Our hosts put up with our inadequate French. Fantastic location to walk around Quebec City.

and as a lot of french speakers stay here:

Nous avons eu un excellent séjour avec Marjorie et Pascal. Le bâtiment avait du style, la chambre était grande et les petits déjeuners étaient variés. Nos hôtes mis en place avec notre insuffisante française. L'emplacement est fantastique pour se promener la ville de Québec.

We spent 3 nights at Chez Hubert during Carnival. It is great location - quite neighborhood at the top of the hill, and central to the Old Quebec.

I must start by saying that when I say Excellent - I mean the it is excellent for what you get for the cost. Not a 5 star hotel - but it is a lovely old place - lovingly kept up by the family that lives there. There are 2 cats, a young daughter, and a very nice couple that run the place. The breakfasts are excellent - carefully prepared in their own kitchen. We came in late one night to the smell of fresh baked bread - which was then served at the breakfast the next morning!

The rooms are nice comfortable and clean, and again - it all feels very homey. The cats make themselves comfortable with you - and the owners also do the same. We had a nice view out the window onto the street and across the rooftops to the Chateau Frontenac.

So - the only drawback - it is an old house - so you are living like family a little bit! Bathrooms are nice - but shared - two rooms to a bathroom. It was never a problem though, there was always one available. And the old house is not exactly sound proof - though it is much better then most B&B's I have been to. Anyway, for us, this is definitely part of the charm!

So you have to be okay with cats - and and okay with having a delicious breakfast over conversation with the good people who stay there, and the delightful owners!

If you appreciate this kind of stay, then I highly recommend Chez Hubert to you. We will certainly go back!!!

Chez Hubert is an excellent choice for a B&B in Old Quebec City. The location could not be better, and parking being included is a nice extra. Breakfast is outstanding! A true feast, we looked forward to it every day.

Two little warnings, though. 1, There are two cats on the premises. I am allergic to cats and although the cats weren't in our room, I was unable to use the common-area living room and my allergies bothered me the whole time of our stay.

2, We requested the room with the view of the Hotel Frontenac. As it turned out, you can technically see the top of the hotel, but it is far away, and most of the "view" is of nearby buildings. The room was lovely and clean, but advertising a "view" is a bit of a stretch!

These are minor complaints, though. I definitely recommend this lovely B&B, as long as you are not allergic to cats.

This is a great place! The hosts at the front were very friendly and caring. They told us some places we should visit, local restaurants, and tips on how to get around Quebec. The place was cozy and welcoming. The rooms were a good size, and they were clean. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were nice and warm for coming in from the Quebec winter. The house has very appealing architecture, and has a welcoming design. There are cute cats that make you feel at home, but if you aren't a fan of animals that may be a problem. There was an entertainment room, with a TV, books, board games, and was a nice place to sit down and rest. The place has free parking at the back and free internet. The place is a five minute walk from old Quebec. The two washrooms(which were shared with the other guests) were large and clean. The breakfast was varied and very large, there were fruits, banana bread, french toast, cereal, toast and more. It's great for what you're paying, and a amazing place to stay!
