My husband and I enjoyed staying at Hotel Champlain. You can’t beat the location when seeing the sights in old Quebec. It is within walking distance of everything. Hotel staff is friendly and the breakfast in the morning was delicious and well prepared. We would definitely come back.

Perfect hotel for visiting the old town in Quebec city. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable, I had a good night sleep.
The breakfast was free due to direct booking with the hotel and what I needed to start the day. The breakfast room was bright, with a nice atmosphere and real tableware.
Note that when arriving at the hotel, the parking space to quickly check-in is 10 meters before the hotel entrance on the right side of the street. As other mentioned the on site parking is quite tight and it is also fine to use the public parking that is really not far away from the hotel (300m). You will not need your car while visiting the old town.

Nice clean hotel, pleasant staff and close to all shops and restaurants. Coffee machine was great. Didn't eat breakfast there but other reviews liked it. Would definitely stay there again. It was a perfect experience and well worth the modest cost of our room.

Room tip: ask for a reserved parking spot when you book its worth it.

Went for a girls weekend. Staff was friendly. Buffet breakfast was average but reasonably priced (or free if you book direct with them). Our room was a deluxe with 2 queen beds - very comfy and good pillows! It was clean, quite spacious, had nice view of the city, and thermostat worked good but no fireplace. No coffee maker in the room, but had a fantastic coffee/espresso/cappuccino maker in the lobby (free). There was also a really cool wine vending machine in the lobby with a nice variety of bottles (paid through your room key). All in all, the hotel was good and the location was great. I would stay here again. Just as an FYI, we went last weekend in April and it was much colder than I expected (and rainy). Needed a hat and gloves, could have used a packable down jacket, but I did ok with a couple layers and light jacket. You have to reserve on-site parking ahead of time, but there is a large garage within walking distance ($24/day) and pay-for-parking right across the street (works out to $30/day)

Room tip: Our room (#40) was a large corner room with 2 queen beds. Had a DVD player but no fireplace

We stayed here for 2 nights while we visited the carnaval. First time in Quebec. Hotel was nice. Beds were cozy and rooms spacious. Hotel is on the smaller side with narrow hallways. They wanted to charge us $14/pp/per day for breakfast which I thought was a little steep considering my kids wouldn’t eat more then a slice of toast. So we brought our own breakfast foods. There is also a McDonald’s about 2 blocks away and a subway nearby as well. Hotel was within a nice walking distance to all carnaval activities which was a good thing because many of the roads around the area are one way streets and very very narrow and steep. Make sure to have good boots as roads and sidewalks are often slushy and snow covered. Parking is limited at the hotel and the spaces are +++ tight. Almost impossible for a ‘fluffier’ size individual to get in and out of their car. When booking your room make sure you request a parking spot as they are extremely limited. The hotel staff helped me back my car in (in order to get it in tight and squeeze the next car in beside mine) and hit the wall with my bumper. I moved it up and away from the wall and Thankfully there was no damage but it made me nervous for the rest of my stay that they were going to move it again as you have to hand your keys into the front desk. We didn’t speak French but tried whenever possible and the staff were very accommodating. All in all it was nice and we would probably stay again on any future visits.

We are delighted that your time with us was a positive experience, despite the tight parking, and that you enjoyed your spacious, comfortable accommodations as well as the hospitality of our staff.
