This hotel is in 2 buildings: older heritage building no elevator, and new building, with elevators, albeit S-L-O-W. Find out which one you're in before you book. The older building- nicer rooms.

Room Tip: Old heritage wing

The rooms are big and comfortable, but the decor is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE, very tacky and overly done: too many patterns, colors fake trees inside the room ! DO NOT STAY HERE if you have good taste !

Room Tip: Suite is spacious but terrible decorated

Just a couple blocks from Rue Saint-Jean, where you can find many restaurants and close to all the sights. The rooms are decorated nicely and the people who work at the hotel are really friendly and helpful. Everyone raves about the cappuccino machine and they're spot on. We enjoyed several cappuccinos every day and the kids enjoyed hot chocolate with their breakfast. The parking situation was fine, not as narrow as other people made us think but you do need to be sure to reserve parking in advance.

We visited this lovely little hotel after staying in two large corporate hotels. What a refreshing change. The owner, Michelle, made an extraordinary effort to accommodate our special room requests. This charming hotel is very popular but despite the buzz in the lobby, Michelle and her staff treated us as if we were the only guests. Since Michelle grew up in Quebec she was able to direct us to economical places to buy souvenirs AND to an upscale restaurant to have a classical french meal. Treat yourself to this charming hotel that will make you feel more like an honored family member than a hotel guest.

Room Tip: There is a room with a kitchenette if you want to prepare your own meals, but you have to climb stai...

The staff at this hotel are wonderful, all very helpful, friendly and professional. The hotel is in a perfect location and within walking distance of everything. Rate included an upgraded continental breakfast, the parking is hard to get with only 17 spots for 50 rooms so it must be booked in advance, the rate was phenomenal compared to similar hotels in the area.

Just left after 3 nights at this hotel. Great rate with CAA. Perfect location within the walls of Vieux Québec...easy walk to everywhere. Loved the room...very quaint with a brick wall, and lovely bathroom. Staff was so friendly, with superb English. Breakfast was OK...not a tonne of choice, but eggs were good, and there were bagels/bread, cereals, and some fruit. Would have lioked a meat (bacon, sausage, or ham) as well...and some fresh fruit would have been nice. Fantastic having free cappuccino & mochacinno in lobby available at all times. Parking lot was a nightmare to maneuver in though, and was really the only negative. Booked to stay there again next month...looking forward to it!

My best friend and I decided to reunite in Quebec City after years of not seeing each other. We stayed at Le Champlain Hotel for two nights on June 5th and 6th, 2011 and were extremely pleased. We loved the unbeatable customer service of the staff which made us feel at home (thanks Mark and Rosanne!) , the location couldn't have been better since the best of Quebec City was within walking distance, we felt very safe walking at night in the area, breakfast was fresh, the beds were very comfortable (even the sofa bed). All of this for a very reasonable price! We are definitely staying there again when we go back!
