We stayed here with our family of five. The service was exceptional. The room was really nice and spacious enough for the five of us. The decor is stunning throughout. It was an easy 15 minute walk to old Quebec. They provided a helpful map and suggestions on sites to see. The croissants at breakfast were unbelievably good - and still warm from coming out of the oven. The coffee was also outstanding. You'll enjoy staying here.

We spent four nights here. Our room was in the basement and had a separate entrance around the side with a small courtyard. The entrance was shared with the other two rooms in the basement and also shared a common area with sink, microwave and fridge. We actually spent very little time in the hotel since we were out sightseeing every day.

We had one of only two parking places in the garage and basically parked our car and walked everywhere except one day when we went to the national park.

We were quite pleased with everything at the hotel. When we mentioned the soap dispenser was clogged, Jose replaced it himself within 10 minutes. We knew the owners spoke very little English but Jose tried very hard to help us when we checked in after the English speaking woman had gone for the day. The next day, she was very helpful and willing to spend time speaking with us.

The room was small, yes, but was comfortable and modern and perfect for our needs. The room was a comfortable temperature and we never heard nor saw the A/C. Although there are a lot of rooms, we heard very little from other guests. We did hear guests returning to their room each night around 10 pm but they were not overly loud.

Being early risers, we did not wait for breakfast each morning which did not start until 8 a.m. We also did not partake in the package deal with a local restaurant. There was absolutely no pressure from the owners to do so.

Room Tip: Basement rooms had independent entrance, stone walls seemed to muffle noise and add style.

I can't say enough nice things about this wonderful hotel and the owners Jose and Phillipe. We stayed for two nights last week. Do to the language barrier there was some confusion with our reservation. The owners made us feel welcomed and handled the situation in the outmost professional manner. The rooms are clean, comfortable and pleasant.
It is located in the upper part of the city, it's a pleasant 10 to 15 minute walk to the old city, passing wonderful cafes and restaurants.
I loved our stay here and would definitely recommend Auberge Aux Deux Lions.
I"m looking forward to visit again, but next time I want to be able to communicate in French.
Thank you for your hospitality.

Room Tip: We had two rooms and both were pleasant, clean and quiet.

We are a Boston-area couple with very limited French, and made last minute reservations at Deux Lions for the only room they had left for our week in Quebec, to celebrate our 28th anniversary and my birthday. The room featured a queen bed (not as comfy as a Marriott, but not bad), small toilette/shower, wardrobe, desk, small TV and kitchenette (cabinets, plates and silverware, fridge, water heater, pot-sized coffee maker; no microwave). Everything was modern and very clean. There was a one-cup coffee maker, but no coffee packets for it (I never brought it up with the owner).
The Auberge owner, Philippe, is exceptionally friendly and attentive. Front desk lady (Elaine) was very friendly and helpful. Telephone reservation process was super easy (thank you, Sandie, and congratulations on your new boy!). Philippe even brought us a bottle of champagne for my birthday. Philippe makes the continental breakfast, and his pastry is wonderful.
The entire facility is exceptionally clean and well cared for. Details like paint, carpet and furnishings are very good. There are many common areas with seating, such as hallways and little balconies. There is a common kitchenette with two small tables, microwave, extra supplies (towels, linens, Kleenex) and laptop computer. The computer was very old and slow, and French only. There is wifi coverage throughout the Auberge, but it was generally slow.
There is parking behind the building, though we were required to park two doors away, due to limited capacity. Our room was on the second floor, above a garage and rear entrance, with a view of the parking area. We were away from the street noise, but there were occasional loud conversations from people using the rear entrance, as well as the sound of a garage door opening/closing. (We kept one window open the entire week.)
The neighborhood is nice, with very good dining, markets and bars within a few blocks. It is also a few blocks from one of the best urban park in the world: the Plains of Abraham, which we frequented for walks, picnics, and its excellent modern art museum. We felt very safe walking around the area, and enjoyed the bakeries and coffee shops. It is a 15-minute walk to the old city, very manageable.
The Auberge has arrangements with Graffiti, a nice restaurant a few blocks away. We ate there twice, first off the Auberge prix fixe menu, and again off of Graffiti’s menu. At both meals we enjoyed very good food and service.
Over all, a reasonable price for a very nice place. We would be delighted to return to the Auberge for another visit, though probably not over the garage.

My sisters and brother and I stayed at this wonderful B&B in July 2014. From the minute we went in the front door till the day we left - we were treated to great hospitality from - Jose, Phillipe, Elaine and Sandy. The room we stayed in was a superior suite and it was very comfortable and clean. Also I can say that we were never disturbed by any noise at the Auberge. The breakfast in the morning in the dining room is was so enjoyable - just perfect to start your day in lovely Quebec City. Thanks to Phillipe for those delicious croissants!! I highly recommend this B&B which was absolutely charming. I personally can't wait to go back!!

The B&B is very connfortable, the location is great because it is outside the walled city and all the tourists but close enough to go walking. Also, it is close to good restaurants and bars.
The breakfast is very good with home made croissants!

Arrived to find that our reservations made through Expedia were never actually transferred to the Inn. Management was very accommodating despite our lack of reservation. They only had a room for one night, but quickly found us lodging for the next 2 nights at a nearby Inn of equal charm and value.

Our room was in the basement and very small, but the bed was comfortable, room clean, shower hot and the A/C unit almost silent. We enjoyed our one night, but more than one night in this small room might have been trying. Only issue (besides the reservation snafu, which was not the Inn's fault) - one of the two owners barely speaks any English and communication was quite difficult. The other owner spoke a little more English and Spanish, making communication a little better. The young lady at the desk the next morning spoke English very well and was very helpful guiding us through some walking tours from the Inn to the walled City and back as well as some wonderful restaurant suggestions. There is a rooftop seating area / lounge that I suspect is quite lovely to use in the evening.

Bottom line - The Inn is in a great location for walking the City and accessing many restaurants. Our room was very small but comfortable. We would stay here again (in a larger room) after verifying our reservations.

Room Tip: Room in the basement is very small (although clean and comfortable) - okay for one night, but I susp...
