Stayed for three nights the second week of August. When we arrived, the desk people spoke very good English and the check in process was quick and painless. When we got to our room, the air conditioning had gone amok and it was very cold. There was an error message on the thermostat that we just couldn't fix - couldn't even shut off the air.
Hey, stuff happens but what makes a first class establishment is how they fix problems and they resolved the issue quickly - the thermostat had to be reset in the maintenance room or something. No problem.
The rest of the stay was good. The breakfast was fine, lots of juice and Euro style coffee with a good selection of bread for toast and bagels.
The only minor complaint is when we were checking out. We were on the 5th floor and there's only one elevator. Not a big deal as we normally used the stairs but when you've got two rollie bags, laptops and all the other neccessary "stuff" you travel with, then you've got to use the elevator.
We were leaving at around 9:30 and there was a cleaning lady with a large cart waiting for the elevator. It took a good five minutes to get to our floor and when the doors opened, there was another cleaning lady with an equally large cart getting out. Honestly, these carts take up almost all of the available space.
We waited for her, helped the lady on our floor get in and when I turned to grab our bags, she let the doors close.
Geez, I had to jam my foot in the door to prop it open, struggle with the bags while my wife tried to force the door back open so we could wedge our way in beside the cleaning cart. Trying to get our stuff and ourselves in the elevator, took three or four times while the door kept trying to close and the cleaning lady made no effort to push the "door open" button.
I said, "You could at least help us out here," but either she didn't speak English or pretended she didn't.
A little effort here would've gone a long way. I was pretty ticked off at her behaviour and really, during checkout time with only one elevator, couldn't they kind of work around their schedule? Why is one cleaning cart coming up while another is going down at the same time on the same floor?
Other than that, I'd recommend this hotel.
