This hotel was just about perfect. Reasonably priced for "high season" ; very close to the water and the staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful. Wonderful breakfast was included in the price...how nice to wake up, go to breakfast and be asked "would you care for a cappuccino or cafe au lait"? Perfect way to start any day. As mentioned in other reviews, the bathroom was terrific, although I do not think the water pressure in the shower head was powerful enough. The room was large, with plenty of options for television and music for those inclined.

This hotel was in a great location and I would definitely stay there again.

As you walk in you start feeling the warmth and the Zen attitude of the hotel. I travel on business and happened to spend a night at this hotel after a very long day sepnt outside in the cold and rain...I just fell onto the bed and after a few minutes felt re-energized and ready to walk around the city. A beautiful breakfast bar awaits you in the morning. You can walk around this area and discover why Quebec is the most beautiful city in North America....european charm, good food, good wine, great shopping. Be sure to walk up to the upper part of the fortified city and have a stroll on Les Plaines d'Abraham... beautiful.

We were blown away by this hotel. The room was beautiful, spacious and airy. The bathroom is stunning (although the water pressure from the rain-shower was a little disappointing) and the breakfast is delicious and plentiful. Staff is super nice, valet is good and reasonably priced. HIGHLY recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with views - very nice. Top floor is great.

This was one of the overall nicest hotels I've stayed in. The location was excellent, the rooms were airy and bright with very comfortable beds, and excellent breakfast and coffee. And even though this is a boutique hotel, they were exceptionally warm and friendly to my two small children. Looking forward to staying again.

My husband and I stayed in Hotel 71 for the 3 wonderful days we spent in the beautiful City of Quebec. At 1st. we were given a room with a queen bed in the back of the hotel and asked if they had anything available with a King bed. They were so accommodating and moved us with no problem. Our room overlooked the St. Lawrence River where we were lucky enough to see the fireworks and hear the music on the day of the anniversary of the city.
The package we had included breakfast and free valet parking which was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. The breakfast each morning was perfect and included anything you would like except hot items which was okay by us.
the service throughout the hotel was top notch from the valet, to the front desk, to the maids to the breakfast staff and anyone else we encountered.

Room Tip: Rooms of the River side are larger and have a great view.

Booked this hotel following my yearly Ride to Conquer Cancer bike ride from Montreal to Quebec. Every year we choose a different hotel. This hotel is wonderful with huge rooms and bathroom and an amazing waterfall shower to soothe my body after the long ride. Expressos and lattes available for free! Trendy decor and super friendly staff. Next door (connected inside) is an Italian restaurant which served excellent veal and fish. Included in the room price is a very extensive continental breakfast in the same restaurant. Once again, super staff in the restaurant as well. Skip the the silly-priced Chateau Frontenac and do your self a favour and visit the boutique hotels of Old Quebec.
