We stayed in a superior room for 2 nights. This small hotel has charm and its location is great in the upper part of Old Quebec City in front of Chateau Frontenac. The staff was professional and helpful. Breakfast was included with our room and is served in the in-house Pain Beni restaurant located next to the lobby. This would have been and excellent review if it wasn't for the fact that some small renovations needs to be done. Our room was located on the second floor and the carpets on the stairs and in the corridors was kind of used. A paint job in the corridors could also help.

We loved this hotel for it's location, character, cleanliness and helpful staff. Tourist information building is a couple doors down the street. Restaurants and shopping are all within easy walking distance. You are in the heart of the upper and lower city. If you want everything close by this is excellent value. the building is old and full of character but no elevators so be prepared to carry your luggage up some stairs. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We planned a stay at the Place D on a weekend getaway to QC and were delighted with our choice. The location was within easy walking distance to everything in the old city in the pedestrian zone. The staff was incredibly warm, helpful and bilingual. The complementary full breakfast each morning added fantastic value. Our room was a junior suite and absolutely beautiful. Decor and amenities like a boutique hotel in Paris, but with a lot more room. They even made a breakfast "to go" for us on the morning we checked out. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Go ahead and book it... You won't be disappointed.

We stayed at Auberge Place D'Armes for our 50th wedding anniversary and could not have been more pleased. Our room, the Marie Antionette, was gorgeous with stone walls, chandeliers and a window with an amazing view of the Frontenac. We have stayed at the Frontenac before but this room was so much better. The inn placed a welcoming chilled bottle of champagne in our room, so thoughtful. The service at the front desk was warm and helpful. We enjoyed everything about our stay. We loved trying our French but everyone was able to speak English. Of course, the location is perfect!

The hotel is perfectly placed for getting around Old Quebec. No need for a car. Close to fabulous restaurants. Our room was small, but very well done, as is common of European or very old hotels. Had I realized this, I would have booked a larger room. Staff was fantastic. We'll definitely go back. Storybook vacation.

Room Tip: If you have bad knees, as I do, stay on the first floor. Next time, we'll get a bigger room.

A comfortable, very clean, and charming inn right in the heart of the Old Town section of Quebec City. Walking distance to every major site and a wide range of restaurants. A good restaurants right in the hotel with a plentiful free breakfast for guests at the auberge. Since Quebec is the city of hills and stairs, the quaint hotel stairs are the icing on the cake. The inn has valet service to handle luggage. All in all, very nice.

I loved this hotel with the exception of the long steep climb to our room in the attic. I would love to stay here again but I would definitely get a room on the first floor. Also, our room was kind of dark since the room looked out onto a building. There was a nice spa tub which was a great amenity.
All of the staff was wonderful and very helpful. The breakfast was amazing...lots of choices and all were great! The location couldn't be better. We had a car and never used it since we were in walking distance to everything.

Room Tip: The "superior" rooms in the attic have a lot of stairs

Bonjour Hjl5370
We are very happy and even proud to read your comment. You loved our hotel, our so good breakfast, our incredible location and our City and were very satisfied of the service offered by our devoted people, thanks ! We understand that your only glitch concerns the lack of an elevator. In our rénovations we did our best to save the old walls , while adding modern amenities to provide you an unique stay. The attic rooms are charming with a real feeling of old Quebec : slant wood ceiling and exposed beams from 1850, stone or brick walls artisan-made american mahogany furniture, metal bed but they are up way up. Please understand the difficulty, even the major difficulty of installing an elevator in an old building but we are working on it. That is why we have a free valet service to carry the luggage up and down.
Superior, deluxe or junior suite are available on different floors, if you book by phone our great staff can help you to choose THE right room!
Your recommendation is the best reward our team can get: Merci Beaucoup!
Au plaisir de vous revoir lors de votre prochain séjour !
