We stayed here may 2011 and just returned , sept 5,6 th and 9th 2012. Perfect location , good price with breakfast included . We took a taxi from airport $34.25 plus tip . Parking a car is not recommended for this and other small hotels in this area (both cost and lack of parking) hotel is located on a pedestrian street but is not difficult with one suitcase , very short walk . The front desk staff are very sweet and very helpful with suggestions ( we were checking out on the morning of a bike race and taxis were not being admitted into old Quebec) . The rooms were very clean , crisp white sheets ,comfortable beds and very modern bathrooms . Last may 2011, breakfast included with room consisted of cold item buffet(very happy) this year restaurant was open for all meals and the included breakfast approx 6 choices from omlettes to yogurt with fruit , very good and good service , very quaint hotel in a perfect location

Room Tip: Pedestrian street so very quiet

Bonjour,

Thank you so much for choosing our hotel for your second visit in our beautiful city! It is always a pleasure to see familiar faces. I will pass on your encouraging comments to our staff. They always enjoy hearing positive feedback as they are very dedicated to our clients.

We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the breakfast served at our restaurant. Several new meals were added to offer a greater variety to our clientele. During the low season (mid-October to the end of June) unfortunately, our restaurant is closed but we do offer, like you mentioned, a continental breakfast including delicious pastries, cereal and fresh fruit as well many other choices.
We are working very hard to keep the restaurant open for next winter.

We pride ourselves in having the most comfortable rooms as possible. We want each client to feel at home. For this reason, we recently replaced all of our sheets for a better quality sleep.

We are looking forward to your next visit!

Warmest regards

Stephanie

The hotel is in a central location and the rooms are excellent. Very modern, clean and comfortable! The service is good, but I disliked the fact that waiters tell you during breakfast that the gratuities are not included, I didnt find that very necessary, if the service is good then people will leave a tip. Other than that I highly recommend this hotel =)

I was there in August 2012 for a wedding. Terrible service at the front desk. The parking situation is simply horrible. You have to double park and then drag your luggage on cobblestone through a bunch of tourists to get to the hotel where no one helps you. Also, we were told that breakfast was included, but then received a bill because we payed via expedia. The menu they presented us when we sat down to breakfast had no prices, but then they charged us $15 each for a very mediocre breakfast of lukewarm food. When I tried to discuss the matter with the young lady at the front desk on Saturday, Septmeber 1, 2012 she refused to discuss it and was very rude to us for the rest of our trip. One time she got in the elevator before myself and my husband and told us we had to wait because she was using it first.

Our room was filthy. Our quilt had blood stains on it and we had to ask repeatedly for them to clean the room and bring fresh shampoo, body cream etc. They would "clean" the room and not add any new products. Our shower would not drain properly so we were forced to take five minute showers, or else flood the bathroom. Worst hotel stay ever. Never going back and I would definitely never recommend it. The only thing it has going for it would be the location.

Room Tip: First tip would be to go somewhere else. Second tip would be to ask for a room facing Sainte-Anne s...

Bonjour mizjj,

First and foremost, we at the Hotel Sainte Anne would like to thank you so much for taking the time to share your comments. Every review is carefully read and taken very seriously.

Let us express our apologies for all the inconveniences that occurred during your stay at our hotel. Unfortunately, the supervisor did not receive word of your dissatisfaction nor did the front desk clerk at the time of your departure. All concerning individuals were addressed regarding the situation, and these incommodities were discussed with them for more information.

We understand that the parking situation can be challenging; this is why we are always glad to explain in detail the best way to arrive at the hotel. It is also mentioned on every website that our hotel is situated on a pedestrian street. The underground garage is located at the corner of our street, and is a walking distance of about 150 meters. We would have been obliged to provide you with all of this information, which is why we always recommend contacting us prior to arrival to make the transition as seamless as possible.

Every client is important to us and I can assure you that when available, our front desk staff is more than thrilled to assist. For this reason, I am certain that with a quick mention at the front desk, our staff would have happily provided assistance with your luggage.

The young lady at the front desk also tried to assist you when she learned that you were unsatisfied with your breakfast arrangements. For this reason, she offered to contact a supervisor by telephone so it could be resolved. Even so, you deemed it unnecessary and declined her offer. In fact, if you verify our page where your reservation was made, it is mentioned that the breakfast is not included and that there is a surcharge. We did offer a breakfast included rate with the wedding group. However, as mentioned above, you reserved through a different way, therefore this offer could not apply. You may have been unaware that you could have contacted us prior to making your reservation. We would have gladly clarified those details with you over the phone. It would have been a pleasure for us to provide you the group rate and the complimentary breakfast.

We would also like to note that our rooms are cleaned daily, with the exception to rooms bearing the “Do not disturb” sign. This is simply out of respect for our clients' privacy. For ecological reasons, when the lotions, shampoos and other cleaning products are more than half full, we do not replace them unless the client specifically requests it of our staff.

We always accommodate our guests no matter what their needs may be and we are always available for questions, concerns, and grievances. During your three night stay with us, not once were any of these issues mentioned. However, our handyman was able to repair the shower shortly after the reading your review. If you would have informed us that your shower was not working well, it would have been fixed immediately. If not, we could have offered you a change of room or even a free upgrade, if available. Please believe that we would have never left you in a room which you did not feel comfortable or that was not functional.

Clientele service is our number one priority. It is our business to make certain that you are 100% satisfied. Previous comments can attest to our goal to offer an unparalleled service. Regrettably, none of the aforementioned issues were brought to our attention during your stay. This situation could have easily been rectified so that you could have enjoyed your stay as do the majority of our clientele.

If you would like to discuss it in more detail , to your convenience you may reach us at our toll free number 1 877 222 9422 or by email info@hotelste-anne.com

All of our staff and management wish you a very enjoyable end of summer!

Great hotel, in a great location in the old town. Staff could not do enough to help- assisting with laundry and translations! The included breakfast wad also great with a large selection available.
Only negative was that the rooms were serviced late in the day and as we were there to attend a wedding this was a problem when we needed to return to our room on the early afternoon on two occasions to get ready for functions.

Bonjour,

Thank you so much for choosing our hotel and for taking the time to write your great comments about our hotel. Our staff is always happy to read nice a review like yours.

We are indeed situated in a great location, only steps away from all the major attractions and the famous Chateau.

Our rooms are cleaned every day but unfortunately, some rooms are cleaned later during the day. I am sorry to hear that time was inconvenient for you. With a small mention at the front desk, it would have been a pleasure for us to clean your room in priority.

I am glad to hear that you have enjoyed your stay. We hope to have you as our guest for your next visit in our lovely city!

Best regards

Stephanie

We used Tripadvisor to find a hotel for a last minute trip to Quebec. Hotel Sainte-Anne was perfect for our last minute getaway in July without kids. The room had lovely exposed brick wall, nicely decorated in a more contemporary scheme. both the room and Bathroom were clean and the bed was perfectly comfortable. The only downside was some signs of wear but not anything unexpected for a hotel located in the perfect location, in Quebec City. The street is pedestrian only, but parking is within steps at an underground garage. The Frontenac Hotel is a block away as is the Funicular. The staff was lovely and accommodating. Breakfast included in our rate was the perfect start to the day, and other restaurants were all within walking distance. We even found a convenience store a couple blocks away to buy lunch for our bike trip to the Falls. Best yet....The hotel had an area we could store our bikes. Would stay here again in a heart beat with or without our kids.

Location can't be beat...but then again it's hard to mess up a hotel location in QC considering it's so small. Great little rooms, quiet and chic (thanks to the exposed brick walls).
Friendly staff who took the time to answer any questions we had.
Breakfast is included with a menu with plenty of options.
Take note, the tip is NOT included in the breakfast. Soooo, be prepared to feel obligated to pay the tip. Which can be tricky because there's no formal bill for b-fast and taxes are already high in QC.
Overall, no complaints but I would stay at a B&B before I choose a hotel any day!

The Hotel Sainte Anne is located in the heart of Old Quebec just walking distance from great restaurants, museums, shopping and historic sites. It's a boutique hotel with very cozy rooms that are very modern for this 17th century establishment. The beds were very comfortable, the room was clean and the breakfast, included with your rate, was more than delicious. The hotel gives a full breakfast that includes omelette, eggs prepared as you like, coffee, tea or juice and bread. The staff is bilingual, very friendly and helpful. It also has a restaurant/side-walk-cafe with good food for very reasonable prices.
Our stay in Quebec City was short, but I know that we will be back and this is the hotel where we plan to stay.
