We dined at this restaurant twice over our 8-night stay in Quebec City. It was the only one that met or exceeded our expectations. Overall, the cuisine in the city is rather limited. Almost all of the bistros and brasseries have essentially the same menu. If you grew up on that cuisine, it may well be close to your heart, but we found it odd that there is not more variety. This restaurant was the only one we found that offered creative interpretations of long-established standards.
Our favorite entrée was the grilled sausage with cabbage (much like sauerkraut) and pommes frites (French fries). We also enjoyed a wonderful salad with diced bacon and poached egg. The wine list was excellent. Although the selection of wines by the glass or half liter was somewhat limited, all we tried were very good. The atmosphere is hip and contemporary, but also classy and inviting. Service was fabulous. Overall, a most enjoyable dining experience.
