Description: It's the story about a meeting on the set of Les chefs in 2010. It's also the story about a common passion expressed today in their menu of boreal inspirations. Northern cuisine offers a unique re-imagination of our local regional products, to the rhythm of our seasons. Elk, fish, elderflower and wintergreen play an integral part in our inventive menu. A surprising mix of culinary traditions and international influences. Bistro style and boreal inspiration join forces to create gourmet pleasures.

“AMAZING”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2014

We had a late dinner here and the food was amazing. It's no mistake that this restaurant is packed late into the evening. The food was incredible - my son ranked it one of the best meals of his life. Our waiter was fantastic and suggested some similar restaurants off the beaten path that we also tried and loved.

“Really exceptional”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2014 via mobile

What to say! Excellent service, food was awesome and the variety of the menu was super. Good choices and the wine selection, either by the glass or bottle, was well thought out and matched the menu to a T. Will definitely go back next time we are in the city.

“Expected so much more.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2014

Knew going in that it would be different. The interior has a frenetic atmosphere that is anything but calming. We did appreciate that when we asked for a table window they did change our seating quite graciously.

Can't put my finger on it, but there is a pretentiousness that just doesn't need to be there. Service was good, not great, but that had more to do with the fact that our server's others tables were more engaged with her I think. Ordered a delicious beet salad that was truly amazing. We had the chicken and salmon which was okay but honestly not what I expected. It is a difficult menu to navigate in that the boar bacon and blood pudding is a bit much to grasp, but for the adventurous perhaps it will be a better experience.

“Loved this restaurant in Old Quebec”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2014

One of the best meals we had on our whole trip to Montreal and Quebec! The food was inventive and creative with a knowledgeable and very friendly staff. It is right along one of the busiest streets in Old Quebec surrounded by shops and other restaurants. It is part of the Hotel Victoria but you don't even realize that until you go to the bathrooms.

The dining room is lively and while we didn't have a reservation we had no problems getting a table in the early evening. We had the duck and goose entree as well as the fish stew, steak and a fish dish. All were cooked perfectly. The appetizers were unique and delicious. The creme brulee dessert was wonderful but didn't love the chocolate surprise quite as much even though it was tasty. The menu is not huge, but what is on it more than makes up for it.

This was probably the most expensive meal of our trip but worth every penny. The restaurant had a trendy and upscale feel but one that was not off-putting. My pre-teen and teenage kids loved it as they were treated with respect and not "as kids". Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Old Quebec!

“Best meal in Quebec City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2014

We tried many of the top eateries in the city and my best meal was here at Chez Boulay on a busy summer evening. The staff was friendly and attentive and the food was marvelous. We both had the most delicious seafood dishes with many layers of flavor from the vegetable puree to the perfectly cooked fish. Our entrees were the Swordfish with boreal toppings, just a wonderful mixture of natures best ingredients. And the seafood chowder which was a generous bowl with amazing flavors. Great wine suggestions to accompany our meal made this an exceptional dinner.
