This is a wonderful hotel with superior service and features. But the thing we most enjoyed was its outstanding location. About 100 yards from the nearest gate in the wall around the old town, it was far less busy than any of the hotels inside the gate and certainly far more appealing judging from exterior appearance (except for the Chateau Frontenac). As in almost every place we visited in our five night trip to Quebec, everyone in the hotel spoke excellent English as well as French. Everyone was friendly and helpful. If you need something to read, not far away is a bookstore that carries a modest selection of current English fiction.

Our room had a small fridge (larger than dorm size with a small freezer which we appreciated.) As gold members, we were given complimentary breakfast but the superior food would have been well worth the comparatively moderate prices for the quality of the food available including individually prepared omelets and egg dishes. Plenty of fresh fruit and terrific Starbucks coffee. There are tables that are large enough to hold a breakfast meeting for several people. The morning waitress was a delight as were the two chefs.

The elevator was fast and there was never a wait. The lobby has a nice bar and people seemed to enjoy spending some time there in the afternoons and evenings. A very good computer in the lobby with lots of nice seating areas. The only negative note is that the concierge lounge is nothing special: one very substandard hot dish kept warm in a electric chaffing dish but generally pretty good cheese selections. Soft drinks were available but no cold water. The computer regularly required resetting by hotel employees and I didn't want to bother them during their busy time.

Room Tip: Ask to be on the side of the hotel facing the old town gate. The views are terrific and they are away from the very busy street on the opposite side of the hotel.

Stayed here for 2 days in May 2014. Steps from gate to Old City. Had room with 2 queen beds, very spacious. Excellent service - hotel restaurant was reasonably priced for breakfast and dinner. Hotel staff very helpful and polite - special thanks to Michael and Christopher at front desk for their assistance throughout our stay.

Better than expected lodging in a redesigned office space. Was given a well appointed, fairly spacious single queen room overlooking the Place D'Youville and the the Porte St Jean. Excellent bed and lovely service. Food a bit pricey but lots of alternative close by. Try Le Beffroi next door for a superior cut of beef. The Priceline tag was a steal.

Room Tip: Many superb restaurants nearby.

Just outside the old walled city of Quebec. Everywhere is walkable. We arrived at night with all the Christmas decorations alight and the outdoor skating rink just outside the hotel, so very pretty. Hotel staff very helpful and polite . English / French spoken. Restaurant in lobby is busy at breakfast times but otherwise quiet in evenings. Food good but plenty of restaurants on your doorstep. Buses to various places and tram available outside hotel as is taxi rank.

Stayed here for our anniversary trip and we had a great time. The hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly. When we arrived, they found out we were there for our anniversary and did all they could to give us a great room with a wonderful view of the old city and river. The location was good, just a couple of minutes walking takes you straight to Rue Sainte John which is the heart of the old city. The concierge was very helpful in getting us taxis when needed and taking the time to chat with us as we came and left the hotel during the day. We didn't get the chance to try out the restaurant there or other facilities as our time was very limited, but have no reservations in recommending this hotel.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 503 which gave us a nice partial view of St. Johns Gate and a view of the old city and river.
