“The Coolest Hotel”

There is nothing to dislike here. The fact that the entire structure is made of ice is amazing, but we also saw impressive decorations, hot tubs, and a bar, all made out of ice! We ordered drinks and they were poured into ice cups. We stood at our ice table, drinking our drinks (and our cups), and listened to some awesome music being played in the bar. The atmosphere was great and we were having fun the entire time. When you visit this place, be prepared to take a ton of pictures. You're gonna need to.

“It's not the hotel - it's the decor!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2013

The building itself is not that impressive from the outside. However, the ice sculptures used for the furnishings in the lobby and bar are incredible. Even more amazing are the bas relief snow murals carved into the walls of the premium suites. We really enjoyed touring the rooms and imagining what it took to build and decorate them. While it was a very cool afternoon visit, I'm betting that the "ice bar" and well-lit disco scene in the evening must be very entertaining. However, be forewarned that the drinks are very expensive for the quantity served, the only (very basic) food is at the cafeteria next door (closes at 8pm), the only restrooms are porta-potties, etc. Think about this more like a quick tour for the visual feast and you'll be all set.

For those who want to stay there, recognize that you can't check-in until after 8pm and you have to be out by 9am (not that there's any reason to stay longer in such an ice box). However, I will recommend paying extra for the suite over the standard room since the decor is amazing and you get a fireplace (hah, wait and see for yourself). The four jacuzzi's and sauna just outside see a lot of use I'm sure.

“Hotel de Glace well worth the price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013

It reminded us of the ice palace at Saranac Lake NY with its indoor slide and blocks of ice. Every year the theme changes. This year there will rooms with dinosaurs, fairies, blocks, bears, and other kid related events. Be sure to dress warmly and take the tour.

“Worth a visit but wouldn't want to actually spend the night!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013 via mobile

Such a cool ( literally ) place - great to wander around, but as soon as we looked at the room set-up, we were very glad we had decided not to stay!! The logistics of separate sleeping bags and no ensuite bathroom were enough to put us off overnighting - as well as the 9am checkout and 9pm check in times.
But nonetheless a great concept hotel - especially for visitors from much warmer climates!!
Beautiful ice-carvings everywhere, the chapel is lovely. As big fans of "Game of Thrones" it felt kind of like we were on the set - I kept expecting to see the white walkers!!
Add this hotel to your sightseeing list whilst in Quebec City !!

We loved our experience! We followed the guided tour in English and the guide was very knowledgeable (Pierre). This was our first stop when we got to Quebec and it was the perfect way to start our trip. Be sure to take the tour as we learned a lot about the hotel that we wouldn't have known otherwise. We bought a lunch plus visit pass. The lunch was great, I had salad, chili a bun and a soft drink (all included in the lunch pass) and my fiance had soup a panini and a soft drink. We felt it was good value for what we paid.

There are so many nooks and crannies to explore. We spent about 2.5 h in total (guide, lunch and self-guided exploration. We also found that it was colder inside the hotel than outside!

A must see if visiting in the winter months.
