“An outstanding downtown hotel”

The Hotel Le Clos St-Louis exceeded our expectations, for two couples vacationing together. It is surrounded by good restaurants & shops, near/above the Chateau F. Seasoned travellers, we enjoyed the ambiance of the cozy small hotel, with warm living room/lobby fireplace. The hotel is owned, managed & even breakfasts are cooked to order by Ghyslaine. She checked us in & cooked our wonderful breakfast every morning -do try the French Toast. We received great suggestions for dining and other city attractions from Paul-Emile, the concierge. The rooms are clean, quaint & romantic. The stairs can be a challenge, so stay a week, to leave the luggage in place in your room.

Check out the cannonball in the tree root on Rue St Louis opposite number 58 and Rue du Corps du Garde, right down the street, but without any historical plaque.

We chose this hotel for its cozy decor and charming ambiance~first impression walking in the door was breathtaking as it was all decked out for Christmas, the fireplace blazing and the friendly staff greeting us. Our room was amazing, everything we needed for our perfect Christmas celebration in Quebec. We were within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. My favorite part was the homestyle breakfast prepared every morning with the french toast that was to die for! We felt very pampered our entire stay there. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that was looking for a unique Quebec experience!!! LOVE LOVE LOVED IT!!!!! Paula and Mark Warren~Seymour Texas, USA

The hotel is beautiful, and our hosts provided everything we needed for the perfect wedding. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed the restaurants and carriage ride included in our package.

We expected problems when we were told the room we had painstakingly selected was not available (just like an earlier reviewer) -- but then we were upgraded to a suite. This is a lovely little hotel, almost more like a B&B because of everyone's friendliness and helpfulness. The concierge had called and made restaurant reservations for us even before we had completed checking in. Our suite was lovely -- very nice to have a sitting room. Unusual for a hotel room, there were lots of lamps and they ALL worked. Rooms have been carefully updated with modern amenities (bathroom fixtures, safe, fridge) that don't detract from the period decorations. The location within the walls of Vieux Quebec is excellent -- close to absolutely everything. We had a great stay and would definitely return.

We stayed at the Hotel Le Clos St-Louis for a full week. The hotel is well located, in easy walking distance of most destinations, and the rooms were neat and clean. The staff is very hospitable. We enjoyed a nice breakfast each morning and usually did not want to eat again until middle afternoon. This is not a budget hotel but breakfast is included and no taxi is needed to get around, so it is still a good value. We would stay there again.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Le Clos Saint Louis for several reasons.
First of all, This hôtel is a wonderful Romantic hôtel. The perfect place to stay in Quebec and the staff was in the best. Very helpful and friendly. The breakfast and service was delightful, fast, good and very good choices.

Secondly, the location was great. It was just outside the old city walls near a of restaurants and shops. We could also easily walk to all the touristy sites during the day,
Finally, the accommodations themselves were great. We stayed in room 05.The suite is gorgeous. The furnishing are wonderful and the bathroom with jaccuzzi is a must after a day.

All in all, it was a wonderful place to stay and and we look foward to the next time we can visit.

Good friends had recommended this hotel in Quebec City. We stayed there last week and several things disappointed us. Upon our arrival, wet and after a 9 hour train ride, we were told "you have already checked in"!!. Appeared that they had given our room to someone else. We were dispatched to a room 3 stories up ( there is no elevator). We then moved the next day to the room we had been assigned when we made our reservations. Upon checkout we were charged for parking but we had no car. This resulted in a lot of muttering and exclamations until we suggested- just take the $30 off and figure the book keeping later!
The request for a croissant with yogurt for breakfast was refused even though croissants are on the menu as is yogurt but not in that combination. The breakfast room is advertised as a "sunny breakfast room" It is in the basement and has 2 high partial windows backing onto the parking courtyard!. There is mention of evening dining on the website- that doesn't appear to exist.
The rooms, while quaint, are less than convenient in many ways- small bathrooms, lack of shelf or vanity space. Tissue is so paper thin one wonders if they have a special low cost version created especially for them. We were not impressed and would not recommend this hotel
