“Nice and quiet hotel”
Reviewed September 14, 2012 via mobile

Nice and clean room. Excellent service with a very friendly and competent staff. Hotel location is great for touring the city. Breakfast was served in a nearby place (2 min walk); which we found strange at first but it was ok. Spa water could be cleaner though...

Our stay was very nice. the room was clean and well maintained. the staff was warm and friendly. our lack of french didnt matter for they all spoke english. the location was right where we wanted to be. we knew it was an old hotel with no lift. the walk to the roof top terrace was a long way up! The valet parking was a bit expensive and was added on top of the bill, but they were very quick on getting your car when you needed it.

This is a cute little hotel within walking distance of all of the attractions. We were greeted by not-so-friendly (yet informative) staff and given our room key. Finding our room was somewhat of a task because the hallways are more like a labyrinth than a hotel, but we were pleased with the room once we finally found it, which overlooked the street. The bathroom was nice (clean with a shower and jacuzzi tub) and the bed was comfortable. The room was quiet and cozy all night and we both enjoyed a nice sleep.

The next morning around 9:30, we decided to check out the breakfast that was recommended by Hotel Acadia (it is included in the price of the room for some, but it was not for us). We were very sorry that we did. It was a typical buffet style continental breakfast, but the eggs were absolutely disgusting and most of the warm food was cold and had been sitting out for awhile. The service was not very good; the wait staff did not offer us water when we arrived or come to refill our glasses even once during breakfast. In addition to charging $10.00 per person, they charged a $3.00 service fee (plus tax) and wanted a tip on top of that. Honestly, we would have been better off going somewhere else or just eating a granola bar. Consider yourself warned!

We're pleased to see that our hotel has met your expectations and that you enjoyed your room. Billed as an elegant European syle hotel, Hotel Acadia seemed to have not improved much beyond its previous rooming house era. Check in and information in English proved an adventure. Our QNS #410 could be reached through narrow halls and steep steps. The room itself was clean with a small television and worn furnishings. The clawfoot tub was surrounded by shower curtains and a hand shower. In addition to the pricy room, phone calls were $1, coffee packs $4, and parking $18/day. The best parts were the convenient location, just a couple blocks from the Saint Louis Gate inside the Old City, and the buffet breakfast at a nearby restaurant.

Had a treat and booked the room with the Jacuzzi (remote controlled) - room is located in the back of the hotel - a little dark but the room is very nice, rich in decor, comfy bed, fireplace, TV, DVD and CD in the bathroom, walk in glass shower with additional water jets, jacuzzi bath and an amazing stained-glass window - steep stairs to get down to room and WiFi signal not great - we finished up going up to reception to get a better signal - clean, comfy hotel, staff are friendly and helpful - breakfast is served in a local restaurant about 2 minutes away - - hotel states self-laundry facilities - located in the basement - wasn't great and you need to purchase soap powder at a shop near by (not available on site) - but all in all a great wee hotel that is different and quaint -

I stayed here while I attended a conference at the Hilton. The location was great for city activities and close enough to walk to the conference. The staff were very helpful. The room was clean. I didn't get a breakfast package but there are excellent restaurants closely.

Room Tip: If you have difficulty carrying bags, or with mobility it would be worth asking for a lower floor ro...

This was my second time at the Hôtel Acadia, although I have stayed at its sister hotel, Hôtel l'ermitage.

The Acadia is a quirky hotel made up of about three different buildings. Each room is unique.

For this past visit, we were a group of two couples, one family with a 2 year old and one family with a 4 year old and 9 month old. We had four rooms. One was a simple king bed room with lots of light, another was a king in the basement level with a large exterior patio, the third was also below grade with a huge bed and very large and spacious bathroom and one exposed brick wall, and the fourth was on the main floor. There is a garden terrace where we were able to sit and chat.

The location within the walls is fabulous. Valet parking is provided and you do not need your car at all. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is in a restaurant around the corner on St. Louis. We would certainly stay here again.
