This is a lovely place to stay. We were charmed by the eclectic mix of antique furniture and modern art pieces, the beautiful lighting, and the delightful breakfast area. As a family of 5, we were thrilled to find a B&B that had a single room large enough for all of us- we had a queen, a double, and a single, with a private bath, nice closet, refrigerator, TV, and large sitting area. The shuttered windows looked out on a narrow street in walking distance of everything... we could even see the Chateau Frontenac a few blocks away from the terrace sitting area. Our host, Jolanta, had everything organized so that if you needed any supplies (ironing board, towels, Kleenex, etc.) they were easily accessible and you didn't have to wait for someone to bring them to you. Breakfast was amazing and featured a different hot dish every day (delicious zucchini egg casserole, homemade French toast, potato and sausage casserole, fluffy scrambled eggs with bacon...) along with wonderful variety of fruit, cheeses, breads, cereals, nuts, and amazing cakes, plus extras such as yogurt, sliced ham, radishes, potato salad, etc. This is served buffet style on china with silverware. We really felt spoiled. The location allowed us to come back to the hotel in-between visits to attractions, and made it easy to take short rests between all the step-climbing that tourists in Quebec City do. Jolanta was very kind in helping us to make arrangements-- she even made a phone call for us to change our rental car plans when the agent spoke only French. She is ready to welcome guests in any way but does not intrude at all. We stayed 3 nights, and just wish we could have stayed longer.

Room Tip: The third floor is very quiet, but you have to be willing to climb the beautiful twisting wooden sta...

This B and B is located in the old part of the city, which is the only place to stay. Walking distant to everything, even some outside the wall neighborhoods like Jean-Baptiste, make the location perfect. The owner, Jolanda, is a lovely woman who was helpful in every way, although she is not always on the premises. What we liked was that we could access towels and supplies if or when we needed them, without asking for them. Breakfast was good, nothing special, but more than adequate. Our room was on the third floor, which could be a rough climb for some, with a small balcony that was great for reading and enjoying the weather. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable, and definitely old world in its decor. Overall, this is a wonderful place to stay when visiting Quebec City.

I'd echo what other enthusiasts of Castel du Monde have said. Yolanta, our host, was gracious and helpful; our room was large and charming with a splendid view from its balcony. Breakfast was excellent and ample. The location is in the old town and is central and within easy walking distance of everything one would want to see and do on a brief visit to this lovely city.

Without detracting from our enthusiasm for this place, I should note that all or most rooms involve a stair climb of one to three flights (three in our case), which were in no way a problem for us but should be noted by those for whom it might be. And the available parking is in public garages a couple of blocks from the hotel -- again not a problem or overly expensive, and virtually everything is in walking distance anyway.) We'd welcome the chance to stay there again.

We had the chance to stay 4 nights at Castel du Monde. Jolenta made extra sure that everything was perfect. It is and old charming building that has extra large bedrooms, the back facing one have a beautiful view of Les Ursulines court , the Chateau Frontenac. Quiet street in the old city. Walking distance the all activities and attractions in the old part of the city. Many restaurants near by with the best rated ones among them. Breakfast was a delicious feast...not a limited continental one. Rooms are very confortable. Decor has its ecletic charm.

Room Tip: Many steep stairs. Underground city parking is 5 minutes away.

This was our first visit to the Old City and were greeted warmly by the host. She was most helpful in getting us settled and assisting with the parking arrangements. Our room was large and very well appointed.
The breakfasts were outstanding and a real treat from the norm. The location is ideal since it is within easy walking distance to all amenities. Our stay of 3 nights passed too quickly and we certainly will return again.

This was our first visit to Quebec city. We found our way easily from the directions. Parking is close by and all the sites in the old city are within easy walking distance. We had a large comfortable room with a balcony. Breakfasts were wonderful and we enjoyed meeting the other guests.

It was our first time to Castel du monde and our first impression has improved after the first day.
Even if the owner was not home for our arrival, it was very well explained that we had to enter a code to open the first door and we found our keys in an envelope for the main entrance and our room. We felt like home going through the house as we pleased. Jolenta, the owner, made sure that we were comfortable and happy. The breakfast was super. I would recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone except to people who have problem with stairs.
