Charming Hotel

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Oct 13, 2019via mobile
My cousin suggested this hotel as an alternative to the beautiful , expensive, crowded, hotel on the hill above. Thank goodness! Charming and lovely this hotel was great! They could not have been nicer! We had 3 lovely rooms overlooking the port. We were in walking distance of everything stores, restaurants, and specialty shops. Nice spa and workout rooms. Great dining. Professional concierge. And the hotel drove us to our cruise ship. It was wonderful. Uncrowded, clean, quiet. We ventured up the funicular to Le Fortenac Hotel. It was a madhouse! Also when we returned home we found Auberge Saint Antoine was named top hotel by Conde-Nast in Canada. I believe that’s true. Very Cozy!

Everything about this hotel was perfect. The location at the bottom of the old city is perfect. Wonderful streets to roam without the crowds from above. Great restaurants within walking distance but an easy funicular ride up to the old city.the staff was fabulous from the first bonjour to the final aurevoir.
The concierge made wonderful recommendations for dinner as well as the reservations. Breakfast at Chez Muffy was delicious and the dining room was beautiful. We will be back.

We spent two nights here and we chose to upgrade to the Victorian Suite upon arrival and so glad we did. The room was just the right size, with a small patio and sitting room. The decor was perfect, the linens and towels excellent, three TVs, great bathroom and amenities, and best of all very quiet which can be an issue in older properties that have been renovated as hotels. The restaurant Chez Muffy is outstanding, both for the morning breakfast service and for dinner, and the bar is awesome as well. The staff were well trained and courteous, the location was ideal, and after walking through the lobby of the Chateau Frontenac and seeing the hordes of people milling about we were so glad we chase this hotel. We shall return!

Good service in modern hotel with all amenities. We had a large balcony looking up at the Citadel. The location is excellent at the base of the escarpment with good bakeries and restaurants near. The hotel was very pet friendly with special treats for my dogs.

I don’t often buck up for a luxe accommodation, and when I do I raise the expectation bar commensurate with the pricing. This place doesn’t disappoint, checking all the boxes. In a city of overpriced lodging, the old city location is very quiet and they did a great job of designing the building and its interior around the archaeological elements. Worth the splurge for the quality, convenience and all the little touches that set elite properties apart from the pack.

It was a very classy hotel for our stay. It was quiet and comfortable. Standard of the breakfast was 4/5 star. The restaurant staff were not as friendly as they could have been. The friendliness and helpfulness of other staff was 5 star (particularly the concierge).

Room tip: We had a good room on the top floor with some view of the St Lawrence River.
