First a little about us. We are a couple that have traveled all over the world, and prefer to stay in five star hotels when possible - such as the Four Seasons or the Ritz. Having set the bar high, I must say that our stay at Auberge Saint Antoine was just perfect. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the service outstanding. Dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant, Muffy, were delightful. The hotel is ideally located within a short walk of many of the best attractions in Quebec. You can't go wrong with this hotel.

We had a very pleasant two night stay at this hotel. The staff was very professional, helpful, and friendly, Our room was very clean, comfortable and well appointed . the bathroom was nicely equipped and included a "rain" style shower head.. The included in-room coffee machine and pods took some getting used to but produced an excellent cup of coffee. Breakfast at the hotel was also very good. The hotel is located in the lower city so be prepared to trek up for your visit to the upper city. Parking is valet only. Overall, we would strongly recommend this hotel.

My mother and I stayed at the Auberge Saint-Antoine for 5 nights while visiting Quebec City and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The hotel is located in the lower part of Old Quebec, which was perfect for us because it was quieter and less crowded than the upper part, but still close to everything. We stayed in Room 503 with a terrace balcony and it was incredible. We had a perfect view of the fireworks over the Saint Lawrence River! The room was beautiful with a spacious bathroom and extremely comfortable bed. The service was impeccable and the staff helped us with all our needs. We had breakfast every morning and dinner several times at Chez Muffy, which was outstanding. All in all it was an unforgettable vacation and I can't wait to visit again.

Unfortunately our stay at the Auberge Saint-Antoine was disappointing. While the hotel markets itself as a five star hotel our experience was more consistent with a two to three star hotel. As a bit of background, my wife and I are in our 69th year. We had reserved a suite for our stay in Quebec many months in advance. What we were provided was an attic space with many deficiencies. First there were tight, winding stairs to enter the suite in the attic. There was very little natural light and there was no view. The lighting in the suite was very dim. Throughout the suite there were large wooden beams supporting the roof. Unfortunately these were hazards for head injury. As one example, to access the closet in the bedroom one needed to “duck” under a large beam. This made the bedroom closet essentially inaccessible. My wife struck her head several times on the beams in the bedroom and the “bathroom area”. This was particularly unfortunate as my wife had a wound on her head from a recent surgery.

The bathroom was open to the living room and provided no privacy when one was entering or exiting the shower or using the bathroom sink. There were only three very small drawers for our clothes … with such little space for our clothes we ended up living out of a suitcase.

On the positive side, the staff were all very polite and helpful. It is sad that their hard work is undone by this unfortunate suite.

In total this is not what we expect from a five star hotel at five star prices. It would seem that either Auberge Saint-Antoine should remedy these problems or clearly advise travelers that these are the conditions they will encounter in these suites. We would also advise travelers to think carefully before booking at the Auberge Saint-Antoine.

Dear travelers969,

Once again, we would like to present you our sincere apologies regarding the fact that your experience at Auberge Saint-Antoine did not fully meet your expectations. We are the first ones to be disappointed that we have not been able to demonstrate our passion and best service.

As mentioned by our receptionist upon your departure and by email, we would have appreciated to be aware of your unsatisfaction while you were with us, in order to be able to provide you with a different Suite in our newer section, which we think would have been more suitable for you and your wife.

As we are a four star Boutique Hotel, all our rooms are different in style, decoration and layout; therefore we regularly have guests asking to change rooms after their arrival. In this situation, we do our best to satisfy our guests and meet their expectations.

We are sincerely sorry that your stay at Auberge Saint-Antoine was a disappointment due to the accommodation provided. If there is anything we can do at this stage to correct your impression of our establishment please let us know.

We do look forward to hearing from you and to welcoming you back in the future if you let us the opportunity of a second chance.

Kind regards,

Guy & Dagmar Lombard

Everything in this hotel was of perfect taste and high level service.
From the very helpful and devoted staff to the rooms amenities and decoration.
The location is ideal, the gym is perfect.
Great follow up also as I forgot some items in the wardrobe and the staff send it to me in Montreal.
Best in class in Quebec City without a doubt.
