My wife and I stayed for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located in beautifully restored premises and an incredible amount of work has gone into in incorporating the various pieces of excavated pottery and suchlike into the décor. The overall effect is very classy.

On the practical side, the de luxe room was a good size with an excellent bathroom and there was a pleasant deck on which to sit and look at the St Lawrence. The bar was a very welcoming place for light meals or just for a drink. Service was friendly throughout and the hotel manages to achieve an air of sophistication without the snobbery that is so often found in high end hotels.

The location is great - just away from the touristy area but within easy walking distance of many good restaurants.

Room Tip: The bed and breakfast package was real value with no restriction on menu choices

We spent 2 nights at this lovely hotel after our St Lawrence Seaway/New England Cruise. It is so close to the boat we walked to it ( even my 81 year old dad was able to!) The hotel & staff could not have been nicer. Perfectly located to make walking around the old town easy. Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: We requested a high room facing the river and thats what they gave us!

I picked this hotel based on the Tripadvisor rating (it was #1 at the time) and the hotel website. It was a great choice. The location is central - you can walk everywhere - although sometimes it's up steep hills or stairs. Originally, I planned on staying at the Chateau Frontenac because it seems like the centerpiece of Quebec City, but the Tripadvisor reviews were mixed, and the rooms seemed small, old and expensive on the hotel website. Auberge St. Antoine seemed more updated.

I upgraded to a larger room with a river view. The room was extremely nice: well furnished and decorated, modern and very clean. I wouldn't pay extra for the river view - at least not the side view we had, but the additional space was good to have.

However, I would be sure to get the breakfast package. Panache restaurant was really pretty and the food was excellent. We didn't find any better breakfast in the area. There are lots of restaurants nearby, so we never had dinner at the hotel. Wednesday nights they have a Manager's cocktail party and they were very generous with the drinks and excellent hors d'oeuvres.

Service was also excellent in both the hotel and restaurant. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for my birthday and from the moment we arrived and opened the bedroom door to see a huge luxurious room I knew we had picked a great place. The most fantastic bed, views, room service etc. Charles the concierge had arranged a fantastic chocolate cake for me through emails my partner had sent, and helped us book restaurants etc while we were there - it is true that the staff make a hotel and Charles was just brilliant!!! The place sparkles, the bar is inviting, best of all it is located on the lower town away from the intensity of tourism in the upper town and close to some great restaurants and cobbled lanes and squares. A great place to stay!

Stayed for 2 nights in a lovely room with a really comfy bed and fabulous bathroom. Breakfast was probably the best ever! Our only gripe was a constant low level noise in the room which sounded like a generator or machinery. Had we been staying longer we would probably have asked to change room. Would stay here again but not in room 215.

This hotel is absolutely fabulous. We had the pleasure of celebrating our wedding dinner at Panache (which is fantastic!) and staying here on a few occasions. The service and their attention to detail is second to none. I would highly recommend staying here at least once if you are making a trip to Old Quebec. Definitely try Panache if you want French cuisine. There is no doubt I will be staying here again when I visit Old Quebec.

The comfort and cleanliness of my room was superb. Being able to lounge on my sofa or kingsize bed and watch the ships on the St Lawrence, including the cruise ships docking across the way as well as a tremendous storm with thunder and lightning storm one evening made my choice of room feel perfect. The food in Panache was excellent as were the dinners I had in the lounge. Hope to return to Auberge Ste. Antoine in the near future.
