“Try the Tomato bread”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

Amazing bakery, the croissants were fantastic, as was the bread. The service was polite, but seemed a bit slow

“If you can't make it to Paris, go here for a fix”
Reviewed March 10, 2013

Excellent freshly-made pastries, even things I only expect to find in Paris, like chausson aux pommes and pain aux raisins. Delicious!

“Great place for any time of the day”
Reviewed March 7, 2013 via mobile

I and my son needed good coffee this evening after a long drive, went to this place and ordered the combo of croissant and large coffee. Certainly we came out satisfied and planning to go back for breakfast.

“A great little bakery that has great croissants/pastries/sandwiches and soups!”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Located in the old city portion of Quebec this place has everything you need for any part of the day. From the pastries to croissants and baguettes. Everything is so fresh and reasonably priced its hard to not go back after going once. While on my trip to Quebec we found this spot conveniently located near our hotel. They have an accordion player that sets the mood just right. There is a plenty of seating if you decide to stay and relax or if you're in a hurry the lines move quickly.

“Great Snacks (Looks good for light meal)”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

We stopped in Paillard a few times while we were in Quebec, mostly because our hotel (Hotel du Vieux Quebec) serves Paillard pastries with its in-room breakfast.

As others have indicated, pastries are really excellent here. Chocolate and almond croissants were great! Muffins were lighter than any I've had. Coffees and hot chocolates were also very good.

We saw others having lunch and dinner. Looked like mostly soups and sandwiches, but they looked really good (and folks seemed to be enjoying them). Prices were reasonable, too.

I wouldn't go here for any sort of a fancy or formal dinner, but it was great for snacks and warm drinks on cold days. It does look like a good place for a 'budget' dinner or lunch. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Quebec.
